There will be a time when these teachers are seen as leaders, at the moment though there is too much greed, ignorance and material lust so people look to wealthy/famous/beautiful people as leaders. The winds of change are always blowing though.

As Albert Einstein said: “If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough”. Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche is a gifted teacher. I have attended/listen to these kinds of lectures for years. In my humble opinion, he is the best. I would recommend him especially for beginners/intermediate.

This is simply awesome. I have seen very few people even attempt to explain this sort of thing. They often do a horrible job of explaining it because they don't seem to fully understand it. He does a great thing here. It's not a cut and dried process. It takes work to break the cycle of reactive emotions and thoughts. Giving energy to alternate neural network s instead of playing the game they demand is the right way to go. This is how you overcome negative emotion.

Thank you for this video. Great analogies and such an inspiring and hopeful tone. I recently became aware of just how much difficult emotions were impacting my life and relationships. I have a pattern of feeling foggy, confused and helpless when swept away with difficult thoughts and the strong emotions that follow them. Against my best intentions, I find myself getting caught up on the same things time and time again, suffering even more because I so badly do not want the cycle to continue. This is such an important topic and I feel it should be taught to children, too. It is going to take practice, but I can not think of a more deserving goal. Thank you 💛🙏

Don't jump into the river (of emotions) and be carried away (by it). You can't stop the river either. So, just WATCH the river. Power of awareness. Mindful of how the body feels. Practise to extend the time between the rise of emotion and impulsive action.
