I don't care about fancy editing. These are just fine the way they are. I am just happy you are posting videos again. Thanks for taking the time to share.

I agree, as long as you have clear visuals, decent voice recording and not annoying music, I’m good. People are always talking about making “entertaining” and “stylized” videos these days and it can get pointless. Like, I don’t need a music video.
@annaredd24223 жыл бұрын
truth is I like the old style videos, that's what got me hooked to YT. all the new content is just music and fast speed, there is no learning and not personable. keep up the good work and congratulations on your healthier life style.

I've been a subscriber for years now. You're part of the reason I now own two lathes! Followed your 'Drill Press Lathe' video from six years ago, made my own, bought an inexpensive lathe, then a nicer one. Edited/not edited I don't care. I appreciate your time and sharing what you know and what you're doing. Congrats also on the weight loss!

Whilst I do appreciate the effort that goes into editing, and can appreciate a well crafted edited presentation (and I do enjoy watching these), I am here primarily to learn the craft of woodworking. I'm not a complete novice, so I no longer need step-by-step instructions. What I gain most from is when people like yourself show how you approach a project, and how you solve problems. And yes, when you present things that went wrong, that's when I learn the most! If you keep presenting videos like this I will keep watching and "liking" them, and learning from them. I'll also give credit to you when I have learned something from you. It was also cool when you and other makers got together in each other's shops. As a visual thinker, "tearout on the backside" is not a pretty picture! (Lol!) Oh, and I learned from Izzy Swan that jigs are awesome!

I get mixed results with that and I don’t like the heat that it introduces into the cutting edge when doing multiple holes - obviously there’s different style Forstner bits in the sawtooth circumference bits tend to lend them selves better to that technique - now if it’s a holesaw through vinyl siding I’ll do that all day long

Who is this guy? Did he do away with the Nick Ferry we have all come to love and watch? Is there some sinister underpinnings to steal the show by this guy? Somebody call Mr. Monk and ask him to help solve the missing Nick mystery!!!! Nick, I was actually getting worried that something happened to you or the Virus may have infected you or the family. Hope that’s not true! I am glad to see you back making sawdust! I know the editing is the worst part of you Tubers work so I’m happy to know you’ll be changing the format up so that you can get back to enjoying the woodwork and recording to share with us. This format doesn’t bother me in the least and I appreciate you taking the time to share with us. (The audience stands and cheers). I got a bad case of pneumonia just before this pandemic started and when I finally got out of ICU, decided to quit my 60 years of smoking. I was 155lbs when I was released and aware I could easily gain weight. So I tried to watch that. But ended up gaining about 12-15 pounds anyway. You look a lot leaner so I’m guessing there is a high school reunion in the near future for you (haha). Any advice on loosing my 15 lbs (and don’t say go back to smoking.. haha)?

You talk too much and do little. You do not use chip extraction for drilling and sawing. These cuts are faster with a router than drilling and sawing.
@NickFerry3 жыл бұрын
CNC would be faster yet - it’s garbage comments like these that add nothing to the discussion - it’s not a video about being the fastest, yet you decided a comment about it not being the fastest was in order - this method is also not the best method to slice bread in case you’re wondering

I do things all the time in which I’m sure there is a better way that I haven’t learned yet. We are all on different levels as with most things in life. Thus the reason that I watch videos, so that I can improve. No need to criticize this video, very uncalled for.
