It makes a nice change, when you get to work with people from time to time, being a sole trader. But after a day… I’ve had enough of it and want to be back on my own 😂 you two did well in such a small space! Loved the new angles/voiceovers on this one🎉

Another great video again. Just asking that tight crossover is really handy. Did you make that yourself just with street elbows or what? Good advice on the mates and other trades. I find like yourself if you have a solid relationship with yer mate then all good. As you say if he’s a good friend he will gladly and I reiterate gladly pay you what the going rate is and will respect the fact your running a business. I always say everyone has a family to keep whether it be just themselves or a large family and so needs to get paid accordingly. Keep up the good work.

Thanks mate. Crossover if you need to make one 2 street 45 and an elbow, works well in tight situations

Hehe, I have massive issues working with others whether it be mates, family or other trades...they're ALWAYS in the way and ALWAYS ahead of where you are 😂 Example : current house Im on, plasterer was called in on my 3 days off without me knowing...he proceeded to cover all of my cables and pipework that I hadnt even finished, caused another 4 days work to dig them all out. Then he comes back to plaster while I'm fitting the kitchen and covers EVERYTHING in finish plaster...so p!ssed off, I nearly quit the job

That is crazy, creating more work! I’ve worked on some sites where they get eveyone in same day and it’s impossible to do anything as your always in someone’s way

I'll never forget when I got caught short, needed a shit, both toilets out and water off. So decided I was near a public one, drove to it, and it was shut and padlocked. I'm really struggling now. I decide to go in the bucket in my van, opened sliding doors, went in and closed the door, quite peaceful tbh. Blue roll to clean up. All done. Then I went to open sliding door from the inside, it was deadlocked! My key did not work to open from the inside. My phone was in the front. Panic set in, plus the smell. My ladder rack was internal then, It was a Ford Connect. I managed to get to the back door latch with a length of 22mm, it opened a little, I pushed the ladders back against those doors, thankfully they opened. Ladders and racking out the way I could crawl out. Still freaks me out.

Mate I actually laughed out loud at that 😂😂 what a predicament to be in…imagine if someone had to open the doors for you, the smell they would have been greeted with 😂😂 fair play mate that’s a good one thanks for sharing 🙌👍

Yeah mate I know a few lads that have a strict policy on there tools and I don’t blame them, some tools can cost £££, like you said if you lend it to someone and it breaks am you going to trust them to replace or reimburse

@@bluebulldog_uk If a family member or friend wants to borrow any of my tools then the answer is no but I will come round and do it for you or you bring the item that needs fixing to me. Saves any arguments about broken tools etc.

My advice is to ask mates to quote for a job as they would for any customer and also put everything in writing as they would for a random customer. The advantage to getting a mate to do the work is the quality should be good, you trust them and you’re supporting their business. The main issue I’ve had with some mates is the job drags on as they work half days, they take on other jobs which become priority, and some change the price due to the job taking ages… It’s also always difficult to be firm when a friendship is on the line. I guess the flip side are mates who aren’t in trade wanting to pay in beers or a small amount of cash! Maybe it’s just best to not work with mates at all? 😂
@bluebulldog_uk5 ай бұрын
That’s some good advice there to be honest, and yes some mates expect a few beers down pub to pay for installing a boiler 😂
@NotAllTheTime7 ай бұрын
Can I ask why you used tape on the tube in the wall and not lagging? I'm going to be your worst stalker for asking questions 😅😅😅 It's videos like this that I learn from.... As for boxes, I used to buy DeWalt and then noticed that Stanley is DeWalt and the gear is exactly the same (fits with DeWalt too) in build quality and it's only 2/3 of the price.
@bluebulldog_uk7 ай бұрын
Didn’t have any pipe wrap/lagging mate as my mate was supplying materials so just use that tap to protect pipe 😅 yeah the Stanley fat max am great to be fair, them dewalt ones are very similar, I’ve got a few Stanley boxes as well been great for other fittings 👍👍 And don’t worry about the questions mate, fire away 😂🙌

It’s purely a barrier to protect the pipe from brick and cement

Up to 2015, I was a gas engineer but this was the year my back went and it was game over. An ex mate of mine who I had worked on numerous occasion approached me to ask for some help. We live in Liverpool and we had a boiler install in Stoke. Even though I was in agony, I gave him three days [Sunday, Monday and Tuesday]. Long hours and long days, nearly done me in. On the way home, he told me that he had no money to pay me 🤬🤬🤬. Then karma called, a fitting popped and flooded the property in the early hours of the morning and he had no public liability 😂😂😂
