I don't think there's a mirror realm as such, its just an artistic choice to represent the alters, rather than having multiple versions of himself walking around. It also leads to some slick visuals.

It's also not that unrealistic. Some people with DID do use mirrors to talk to their alters sometimes. And the show is clear that Steven isn't really in the mirror. He says to Marc 'so that's what it's like, being on the inside [of our mind]' he doesn't say 'being on the other side [of the mirror]'

The _Eternals_ movie made it very clear the present day is post-Blip... the whole reason the modern day plot is happening is _because_ the Avengers restored half the population. Even the trailers had the line where Salma Hayek mentions Thanos erased half the population but they were brought back. Also, this episode did include a sign for GRC (introduced in _Falcon & Winter Soldier_ as a post-Blip government organization.) So yes, _Moon Knight_ is set post-Blip.

You've been talking about DID very sensitively in your discussion and it was very interesting to hear that discussion! Split is what most people have to go off of when talking about what they know of DID. I haven't seen it because I've heard the disorder was pretty sensationalized and exploited as a thriller trope. Which 90% of portrayal of DID is unfortunately that. In the Moon Knight comics it varies a lot from run to run. Sometimes it's accurately portrayed and respectful other times less so. Watching Oscar Isaac's interviews about the show before it came out, he talked a lot about how they wanted to respect the mental health aspect of the show. So it gave me faith in how they would portray it, and I think they pulled it off. There's a few things tweaked/changed for the narrative or dramatic effects but overall it's way more accurately portrayal than anything I've seen so far about DID. That's an element that makes the Marc system character(s) so interesting. He has realistic issues, like his mental health is often portrayed, and supernatural ones - Khonshu and the rest of the egyptian gods. And they often feed off of each other in a way. I liked that they made the Moon Knight stuff more supernatural than in the comics (his suit is fully magic in the show. Love how they have to summon it) while keeping the DID very real, even more so than in the comics.

This is post-blip, there's GRC ads on the sides of the buses. Also, the passport was from 2018, so the earliest this could be would be during the blip. Which it very clearly isn't.

OK so remember the panther god in black panther bast is based on the Egyptian god and we’ve had mentioned to this connects the black panther in that way. Bast is based on real life mythology Bastet. Bastet was given the heart of ra. Funny enough wakanda had a heart shaped herb. Marc is Khonshu avatar so in a way since the black panther got his power from bast is he like her avatar. The asgardians are gods and we have seen a transfer of power from thor to steve Rogers however it be by a Thor’s hammer. THat brings me to relics of dr strange where they use weapons of higher beings to channel energy and power. Also a lot of this is based on Egyptian mythology which is In Africa another obvious connection to panther. Bastet is a direct child of ra and also his protector

Steven, or rather ‘Marc’ suffers from Disassociation Identity Disorder, or DID. They did a good job of portraying it so far, as it’s not unusual for the multiple personalities, or “Alters” to not remember what the others did, as memories do not transfer between personalities. That’s why some people with DID are misdiagnosed as sleep walkers or schizophrenics. People can have anywhere from 2 to dozens of personalities per person. The personalities are each born from traumatic circumstances, as a way to cope with the situation they find themselves in. As it is easier to pretend what is happening to someone else than it is to you. Some can have alters that are childlike, formed when they were children and frozen in terms of mental age. Some people have older alters, fantasy alters (ghosts from attempted suicide, animal personalities from pretending to be animals to cope from trauma, etc) some people even have fictional characters as alters! In this case, Marc is the Host Personality, while Steven is the more recently formed Alter. The brain is incredible in the ways it will adapt and reshape itself to maintain its own sanity and protect you!

I think Marc was another victim of the attack that killed the archaeologists. Khonshu saved him and in return Marc had to promise to serve as Khonshu's avatar. The deal could have been time-based but it seems more likely it was completion of a specific mission involving the scarab. Marc has Dissociative Identity Disorder(DID), formerly known as multiple personality disorder. Marc is the original personality and I think Steven is an alias Marc created, but started to become real for him. And now Steven is an alternative personality (alter). I think Marc wanted Steven to be the host(personality present most often) and Marc took over to do Khonshu's work. But as Marc said this episode, whoever has the body is getting stronger. And thats why Steven has been able to fight Marc for control. And why he kept "coming to" during the fight in episode 1. And lastly I theorize that Marc plans to let Steven remain The Host after he's fulfilled his obligation to Khonshu

Marc has a past: a wife (they dated before marrying), military training, loads of money, etc. Steven is a nobody; his own coworkers can't even remember his name. He has no friends and no past. Layla has never seen Marc experience an episode like this before--this is something new. 33:33 I think we call that death or throes of it. Seeing your life flash before your eyes and 9 foot lanky mummy with bird-like skull coming for you would probably break your mind, well, what's left of it. I think that it is from this that mark developed DID. Steven likely immerged slowly over time, only coming out when Marc slept, and Marc did the same, explaining why Steven was losing time when he slept. 36:08 I don't think you need to worry about that, MCU Moon Knight is pretty far from the comic version of himself--I'd say he's so much more interesting!!! Watch the last bit of dialog with Marc and Khonshu again. Khonshu knew of Steven, but agreed with Marc that he wouldn't be an issue, until he was. Marc obviously knew what would happen if came forward with Steven to Khonshu--Khonshu would have moved on which likely would have left Marc dead and Layla under his control. Marc doesn't want either of those realities. Khonshu promised him a life for his assistance, and Marc wants to be with his wife very much. He's willing to do whatever it takes to get that. 37:04 Marc doesn't want a divorce. He wants to keep Layla as far away from him as possible, as he doesn't want to give Khonshu the chance to jump from him to her. Divorce, moving to England, becoming a nobody is a defense mechanism to keep those close to Marc safe. 37:19 EXACTLY! 37:47 Until the jobs done! But what's the job? Getting the Scarab? No. Stopping the Zealots that worship Ammit? Sort of. Stopping Ammit? Yes! Steven pointed out to Donna in the first episode that the poster marketing made of the Ennead was inaccurate, that it had 7 of 9 gods. I bet that was for us, as the two gods missing are likely the two cast out: Ammit and Khonshu. We were told why Ammit was cast out, but we haven't heard Khonshu's story yet, but given how similar the two are, I wouldn't be surprised if they were once aligned. Arthur, who agreed with Khonshu, no aligns himself to Ammit. Arthur isn't even against what Khonshu does, he just feels that Khonshu's form of justice is too slow. Ammit is willing to cross that line that cost her her standing among her peers, and I wonder if that's what also made Khonshu loses his too, as he likely supported her in the beginning. I think Khonshu is doing what he's doing because he believes stopping Ammit is his ticket back in, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to get back in. 38:15 "You are worth protecting," is what Khonshu said. Well, yeah! If Marc dies, Khonshu's mission is over. He'd need another person to stumble in to his tomb (I think that's how it works) for a union between them to work. Arthur is looking for Ammit's tomb. I don't think Arthur's Ammit's Avatar yet. He has just a fraction of her power which he's able to channel through that enchanted cane he holds, but he is unable to speak to her as Marc speaks to Khonshu. I'm not sure if resurrecting her will make her appear as Khonshu does or brings her back physically, but I guess we'll soon see. But as Arthur cannot actually speak to her, I'm going to assume that resurrecting her would make her appear as Khonshu does. Khonshu is able to tell Marc exactly what he wants him to do, and through Marc he's able to interact with our world. Without Marc, he has very limited power, as we saw in this episode. 42:55 Marc was dying too, remember. Someone else likely hit them (Marc and the others that were there). 45:17 Is that really strange? We have people deliver water to our homes and offices for a water coolers today.

32:39 My theory is that Marc died, Khonshu agree to bring him back, that might have been the deal, but the trauma of dying was so big that Steven was created as a way to cope. And that might have been recently, because Layla mention something about being months without talking with him. Edit: Layla knowing about the suit might indicate that Marc spended a little amount with her after making the deal but he leave because Khonshu started to threat him about turning Layla into the next avatar.
