Hey guys I want to show you all one of my all time favorite core-chiseling exercise techniques that I like to call the “A-40”.
An “A-40” consists of 4 ab-targeted moves that are performed back to back with no rest breaks. Each move within the “A-40” will be performed at 10 reps each - Making each “A-40” set a 40 rep six pack accelerator.
So if you are like me, you are probably thinking, well heck - how is this ab workout any different from the other thousands of ab workouts on KZbin? Well - here's how:
Time efficiency. Older guys like you don’t have time for regular ab workouts, this tremendously shortens the time. You hit all areas of your abs in one single set.
Help yourself get the abs you've always wanted faster than you thought possible: go2.sixpackshor...
A-40's are challenging but yet do not yield a high risk of injury. If you do regular ab workouts such as crunches and sit-ups, they firstly aren't truly all that effective and they also place a great deal of stress on your spine, neck and lower back.
And finally: Simplicity. One single A-40 set is a complete ab workout, targeting all corners of your midsection. It's the all in one - In addition, The A-40 requires no equipment, and can be done in the comforts of your own home!
Now, doing 40 consecutive reps seems intense, and believe me, it sure is - but as I mentioned before, each of the 4 exercises are structured to focus on all areas of the midsection - Your rectus, obliques, lower abs and even the deepest abdominal layer, the transversus.
The best part about the “A-40” is that it is designed specifically to spare your neck, low back and spine - which are the most common problem areas for men who striving to get ripped six pack abs, ESPECIALLY for guys who are ages 40 and up.
So let me show you what the A-40 looks like right now:
Workout Breakdown:
3:30 - 10 flutter kicks
3:50 - 10 toe reaches
4:16 - 10 pull-ins
4:35 - 10 reverse crunches

Whew, now to complete the workout, hit this cycle 3 times total - and for even more of a core burn, try to complete the cycle 5 times!

Started these a week ago....way better then crunches and sit ups. No stress on my neck and back and I can do these quick every morning. Will get back with comment once I see results :)

Mark, I just turned 50 and found your website and workouts a few days ago. I just did three sets of the A-40. OMG! I've got a long way to go, but I think that this is finally what I need to get rid of the belly and love handles.

Just did 3 sets of the A40 ab work out, I added 10 Mountain climbers and 10 shoulder touch planks to complete the workout, awesome

just tried this out for the 1st time. 5 cycles 20-25 second rest. God dam!!! on the last cycle I definitely didn't keep perfect form on the last 3 sets but for dam sure felt the burn. Thanks for the vid!

thanks. I'll sure give it a try. I have a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in my right leg, but I think this will be okay to work with, it really doesn't seem to be to stressful on the leg.

- I do it- only twice a week, and generally do the reverse about 3 reps, and only the bicycle for a count of 30, and then stand and stretch. Yours looks a lot burnier...!

Skip the first 3 minutes of verbal repetition. Like the videos where Mark say Belly Fat 50 times. Why do fitness people think that their audience are either infants or incapable of immediate cognition. There's so much of this content on the tube - so why do this - it's counter productive. A clever instructor might also say " Hi I'm Mark, I'm going to explain the purpose of this exercise but if want run your mouse down to 3.30 mins you'll see my workout immediately". I don''t think I'm being rude - i just keep thinking "hurry up and get to the exercises because you keep saying the same thing over and over and i want to shut the page down" and then I enjoyed watching the exercise. So thanks for finally getting there Mark - you look great and I'm 6 minutes older when i could have been only 3!!!

Hey Mark, I'm liking what I see here, and they do get those abs burning...and that's got to be good ! I've had so many neck problems I could do all of these, but had to modify a little. For instance, on flutter kicks I have to leave my head on the mat and not crane neck forward to avoid injury. Thanks for the info here & looking forward to more !

To really make this an intense workout and build sculpted abs, grab the heaviest BB plate you can manage without sacrificing form and complete the exercise routine with the BB plate in a steering wheel positon.

Abs after 66 is even easier! Retired-you can spend 18 1/2 hours each day on your work-out. Ok, Sunday you can veg and only do 12 hours.

Older guy here. I did them except the in-out pull ins. Reason being is they cause lower spinal strain in me. Its the same with Russian Abs twists. How about subbing out that for something else. Suggestions ?

Hey Mark, I liked what you said in your infomercial....cardio workouts, crunches, etc diets...all dont work to reduce belly fat because the problem is testosterone...and testosterone is increased only through resistance training which is varied and uses free weights over machines....So what is this video for ? Guys in Stage 4 of your programs?
