Mahal Kita why? many succeed in spite of coaching, not all that is taught is beneficial, just like in basketball or other sports a coach may be hindering their play by making the players overthink with so many details and a desired technique... usually the great athletes succeed in spite of this. He said at the beginning of video how he freezes up when he gets to thinking about how he does every little thing

Sad to see he has no idea yet how to execute a proper runup. Not sure if it's the coaching or not. His initial phase an acceleration are much too fast/explosive. He's a mess on the runway and with this current technique will hit the board about 10% of the time.
@JSXRP
@JSXRP 5 жыл бұрын
He's already jumped 8.02 this season, you're being a bit overly critical
@dg8041
@dg8041 5 жыл бұрын
@@JSXRP A. Not sure what you're point is (because your point has multiple fallacies), but I'll explain how probabilities work for things like performance based on accuracy: The more he hits the board, the more 8.02 will float toward the MEAN due to the wider distribution of legal jumps. So, instead of it being an outlier, a much better jump, which was the product of a better runup, will exist. You want to jump 28+? Jump legally half the time above 27 feet. See? B. There are decathletes who have jumped farther. So.
@JSXRP
@JSXRP 5 жыл бұрын
@@dg8041 My point is that he is not a quite "mess" on the runway, and having some technical issues to clear up out of the back-end of the approach doesn't mean he "has no idea yet how to execute a proper runup." He is pretty consistent around 26 feet, which is a world class jump. I'm not sure what *your* point is, other than to be just as patronizing as the original comment about pseudo-statistics. I am a long jumper, so I am aware that hitting the board more frequently means improved performances. And he obviously hits the board more than 10% of the time.
