CIPD Manchester Branch Fellows Forum event in collaboration with the Alliance Manchester Business School
This seminar shares research insights on workplace bullying with a focus on bystander thoughts and reactions and the effects of the pandemic on bullying.
About this event
We share the latest academic research on workplace bullying, a serious social issue affecting many organisations and sectors. We will seek to answer several important questions, such as:
What exactly is workplace bullying?
What causes it?
What are its effects?
What has been done?
How has COVID affected employees’ experiences with bullying?
We often treat bullying as a two-person problem between the perpetrator and target. However, workplace bullying can often happen in front of others. During our session, we will examine the role of bystanders and how they may be an overlooked aspect of understanding bullying.
This session is ideal for senior practitioners interested in further understanding workplace bullying and learning about the most current research findings on the topic. There will be the opportunity to share your thoughts and experiences with other participants.
The webinar is presented by Dr Kara Ng, Presidential Fellow in Organisational Psychology, and Professor Karen Niven, Professor of Organisational Psychology, from Alliance Manchester Business School.
