It's amazing how many of these native drummers are on You Tube. Equally amazing is the fact that they all sound virtually the same. I can only figure that it takes very little talent to do that.

May be there is a misunderstanding: these people are NOT native drummers! They are STUDENTS and what you here there is a result of a weekend-workshop.

@@beat-etage You may be right but I was referring to the style of drumming. That style is DEFINITELY of the African native type. And the majority of people shown on You Tube videos playing this are natives - they dress like natives and wear African hair styles and jewelry. It's like country musicians - they don't all live in the rural country. (far from it).

@@darz3829 I don't get your point, sorry! Do you want to say that people who are not natives and don't dress like natives, should not play this kind of music? That would be very difficult for our master teachers for djembes and dunduns from Guinee, because they woulnd't have students anymore...

@@beat-etage Okay, I will simplify comment. Lots of drummers on You Tube who play African native drums. They sound same. The way they play is simple and play just like little kids in elementary school when you hand them those drums.

How'd you figure that one out provided each one uses exactly one drum, Einstein.
