I would love the above ^^ comment to be pinned and receive lots of likes, for I too would enjoy a longer format; ..But whilst knowing that being busy and working take prime effort over setting up cameras and remembering to operate them to the situations, let alone editing and rendering....

I'm thinking back to when I was employed as an electric motor mechanic. We had a contract with the Parish to repair/refurbish their submersable pumps, which were used by the drainage department. The pumps we got in were the most foul, disgusting things your eyes (and nose) have ever witnessed. Using torches, rosebuds, and whatever you could imagine just to disassemble the things was a real challenge. This Sturmgeshutz III kinda reminded me of this. Really looking forward to this series!

"A running vehicle"... This is the equivalent of having a firewall, taillight, and steering wheel, and building a running Daytona!!! I think Id give up my cars to restore armor!! Cant wait to see this project, and all the others done, kudos for bringing a few broken and bent parts back to life!!

It will be amazing to see the random pieces come together as a running vehicle again. What an immense task... it's not like you can go to Halfords and get some spare PzIII/Stug spare parts!

It's great you're taking the time and effort to give us sight of what goes on behind the workshop doors. To me, sharing the journey of how you get through the restoration to the finished vehicle is history just as important as sharing the vehicle's original production, service and combat history. Keep up the great work!

Guys, this is absolutely brilliant. Bo is a Ninja with an acetylene torch. I have bing-watched from Ep 1, and have to say, it is fantastic. I'm not a nutter, but to think of what a couple of blokes can do with an 80-year old Stug III, that was blown to bits, and left to rust in a swamp is beyone the pale. I have to come to your museum some day and leave an oblation.

I so envy everyone of you there. You literally get to work with history every day and there's is nothing better than building the worlds biggest "models". If I could work at a place like this, I would be the happiest ever and would happily smile on the way to work, every day. Thank you all for the hard work you do at restoring these pieces of history for all generations to remember and admire. Truly you all do masterful work. Keep it up and love watching the videos. I love the super cuts especially where I can sit down and enjoy a meal while watching history come back to life. Thank you for sharing all of your hard work with us.

Seeing all the different pieces and knowing some are bent up from an explosion it’s overwhelming in my mind to take on the reconstruction and needing all the pictures, manuals, mechanical diagrams and just knowing where to start and which pieces connect its mind bending. My confidence level would be pretty low if I had to do it.

It would be fascinating to learn the story of how this Stug III was discovered and salvaged from its resting place. Someone saw the immense value in not only salvaging it, but could intelligently cut it apart into manageable sections.

@createdeccentricities66203 жыл бұрын
I'd thin k that if the hull number was viewable, you could find out when and where it was manufactured. That's what happened in the case of the Flakpanzer IV "Wirbelwind" being restored at CFB Borden, in Canada.
@thefantasyreview87093 жыл бұрын
they did that for the Tiger, got the hull number on components.
@dirtyd23163 жыл бұрын
It’s amazing that they’re able to take something that was blown apart and piece it back together into a running vehicle again. Hopefully they will be able to find all the missing pieces they will need but given the fact that the Germans built a lot of panzer III chassis and a lot of stugs going to other countries after the war, it should be a lot easier to find parts for it compared to some of the other rarer German armor.
@sshep71192 жыл бұрын
Have your guys ever thought about using carbon arc gouging instead of plasma? Plasma has it's strengths but when compared to carbon arc gouging for weld clean up it doesn't compare. CAG is cheaper as it doesn't require a dedicated machine and the consumables are cheaper than the plasma consumables. Great work, I would love to be able to come down and volunteer some time.

Good work with the sledge that guy. Its hard when progress is slow and you begin to tire, accuracy goes off. Looks like you could almost use a heat oven depending on how much gs you are using, maybe propane would be cheaper. Look around for a decent slab around 6-8" thick. thats bound to help

Just a guess by looking at it, the outward bulging and intense flexing of some of the chassis parts could be due to the way the crew destroyed it which I'm guessing was by detonating the ammunition and possibly fuel..
