For construction I use a compact tractor most of the time. It does everything fairly well. If I need to run a high flow front implement like an auger or need to get somewhere tight the mini skid steer works very well. When I do need the mini skid steer I just rent it. Easier to haul and less money than a full skid steer. Thanks for the real world review.

Makes sense in construction. Rent and pass on the cost. For homesteading, you buy the right product first or lose money.

I've owned skid steers and tractors. My favorite machine for my needs is the tractor. I'm running a kubota M59 tlb. I drive the tractor to jobs within a few miles of home. It's surprising how many people have stopped me out on the road to hire me for work or passing a neighbors house and they need something done real quick. Easy way to be on good terms with neighbors. Fluid loaded tires helped a lot with stability on slopes. The tlb isn't as effective as dedicated machines but I can still get a lot done in a timely manner while only having one machine. Pto implements can also be found for very good deals.

I love my mini. Best purchase I’ve ever made

So many expensive tools. It’s awesome someone who runs them takes the time to give feedback. I am surprised by how much weight that little guy lifts while remaining reasonably stable.

Exactly why it works so well for property maintenance on uneven ground.

Is there some way to attach a ball or “hitch of sorts “ to the mini skid steer so you could pull a small trailer with mini skid steer? I’m torn between the tractor and mini skid steer. I’m a fire wood guy so I have a lot of saws and stuff that needs to go with me.

You can weld a hitch/hitch receiver onto your mini skid attachment (Grapple)

Did you specifically want the non self leveling loader or is that just the way your tractor came?
@WorkshopAddict6 ай бұрын
I specifically did not order it. Had one on a 4720 (same as my 4066r) and it was nice for pallet work. You lose lift capacity and IMHO, strength. That loader got loose very quickly and I use a good moly grease. Love that loader if you do light pallet work, but I like the extra curl for dirt work on this loader.

Didn’t you have a dingo? How does this one compare?
@WorkshopAddict6 ай бұрын
I did and got rid of that at the end of last year. This model is much smaller but will lift about the same amount. I like the design of the baumalight better as it can be worked on easily. When a hose would break on the Dingo, it was a nightmare to try to get to anything and you were always working blind on that machine. I only have 20 hours on this new machine, but so far, I am very happy with it.
