I've been using the 10" 36v miter saw for 1 year. I think I've changed batteries three maybe four times. This is under professional use. Not daily, but weekly. It just keeps on going. That was the first Metabo Hpt product I bought. Since then I've started switching every tool from Dewalt, Bosch Ridgid to Metabo. Very happy with the products, especially with the the sale prices they have.

Great review on what looks to be an excellent saw, Brian. Regardless of platform, I agree about the remarkable technological advances that this tool exemplifies: It's a monstrous framing saw with great battery life that weighs 10lbs, a true all-day workhorse that'll be easier on the user's body. Largely because of your reviews, I got into the Metabo HPT platform a couole of years ago. Stoked for this saw. I’ve been a fan of Hitachi for many years. They make great tools, great warranty, and very competitive pricing. I lucked out when Metabo HPT ran a deal in 2020 where you could choose between the 4.0/8.0 battery or the AC adapter for free with the purchase of almost any bare tool. I stocked up on tools and batteries (and an AC adapter) for pretty cheap. Glad to see they’re still expanding their lineup even though they got booted from Lowes!

Honestly, I love this saw. Coming from a nation that only uses blade right saws, it's convinced me that I'm better off in most applications using a rear handle. Sure, it's not the fastest rear handle, but it's faster than my old corded and no one complained about those saws. It's much lighter than my old corded and my old flexvolt rear handle too. Such a pleasure to use. I had to sell it as I moved countries, but I will purchase another once it's needed.

I have been recently working on a jobsite where the Tpole is really far away so unrolling and rolling an extension cord daily is kinda a pain so I bought a metabo 36V cordless sidewinder to add to my collection of metabo tools. I have been using a Makita rear handle hypoid corded saw for a few years and threw my sidewinders in the garbage (figuratively…). I forgot how much I dislike a sidewinder saw being right handed. I found out that metabo recently released this saw so I Bought one of these metabo rear handles and it arrived the other day. Used it yesterday. Oh man what a difference! I already love it! I recently bought a 7 piece kit on sale and a 5 piece kit on sale. I ended up with the 6.5" and the 7.25" saws. The little 6.5" saw just amazes me at how it slices 2x material all day. Light weight, easy to handle and it just cuts and cuts like crazy. I have found that the 6.5" saw is sufficient for 99% of my cutting. How often do you actually cut 4x material? If you don't, then the 6.5" saw is more than enough for the job.

Late comment here Brian Great video and review! That saw sounded saaweeet! How smooth is it in use? Very very impressive! I’m excited to possibly pick one up, now that I scored the Christmas deal at Lowe’s with the ‘buy the 36/18 MultiVolt battery and charger, and pick a free tool, deal.’ And it is the larger 4.0/ 8.0 Ah battery. I chose the cordless trim router. You will HAVE to check that out Brian! It sounded a little slower with the A/C adapter attached. I think that is a good design, and could make a difference out in the field? Even though AC power may be available, one can continue to work, and not have to wait on a battery to charge? I am surprised by the poor design regarding the arbor wrench? Seriously Metabo/ Hitachi? This was a surprise to me on my 36 Volt Makita, which has NO place for the wrench. I came up with a crude fix to keep it on my saw. It’s not a very firm attachment, but the saw is Sooo Smooth! 😁 Great stuff Brian! Stay safe and Healthy Everyone! 👍👍👍👍✌🏻😁🇺🇸

@@baseballdude8491 They main issue with Metabo is that finding their tools and batteries in stock will be a problem for those of us who live in rural states with limited stores. Only Lowes here carries them. And if they stock 1 battery at a time, you're lucky. In addition, nobody wants to honor the warranty on HPT so I was outta luck when my 12" sliding miter broke. DeWALT is sold everywhere, so no issue to get batteries or even parts to fix yourself.

The Dewalt is one of my favs. The Dewalt would not make all those cuts without cutting out and overheating. Not bagging on the Dewalt because it does rock, but it can't do what this saw did.

And at a much heftier price For the same price of a Flexvolt battery u can get the whole starter kit for the Metabo HPT and again AC adapter for unlimited run time and lifetime warranty and lighter-no brainer the 36V tools have replaced a good chunk of my Milwaukee fuel and Makita's DeWalt lost me with their transition to Li-ion and their prices

Please for your own safety set you blade to a proper depth accidents happen and fingers are not easily sewed back on. Yes I knew someone who did what you were doing using you hand for a rip guide and was lucky not to lose them only because he had set the blade properly. It also helps the saw performance by not overworking it.

Setting the blade to the wood depth makes it work harder, because it's contacting much more of the board at once. Is there like a sweet spot? Maybe twice the wood depth?
@danielbackley93012 жыл бұрын
@@histguy101 yes there is a properly set blade is one where the tip of the blades teeth are just past the thickness of the board.
@histguy1012 жыл бұрын
@@danielbackley9301 well, that would run the motor a lot harder. I usually run a table saw 1-1.5" above the piece. It will cut faster and smoother. It it's a dense hardwood and the blade is flush with the board, the table saw groans for relief

Why don’t give information where to buy, price, etc.??? I would like your video but the lack of any info on your description is like little kids doing videos on toys

Drives me crazy how all these channels waste wood. Cut up a 50$ piece of wood just to do it. Pretty sure they tested it before they sold it

Perfect for small projects. Not got a lot of power so if the wood starts to flex it stops the saw pretty easy. Use it for small tasks and you will be happy. Safety system Works great kzbin.infoUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c .lose your grip on the saw it shuts off and the sheath closes over exposed saw.
