May I know how you obtain the geolocation of the images, is it from exif files or you downloaded the flight logs? Thanks! Kudos!
@Vosentech8 жыл бұрын
When I import the images into Pix4D, it automatically extracts the geolocation but I presume you could also obtain it manually from the images by using the EXIF file you mentioned. I do not believe it comes from the flight logs.

Was this on the Phantom 3 Standard? Can I still rely on the "Return to home" Feature if the drone loses connection with the transmitter?
@Vosentech8 жыл бұрын
No, a phantom 3 Professional was used. In my experience RTH worked fine but still, I would not recommend flying that far if you can avoid it.
@taylorfauley40848 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the timely response. I have one other issue, I flew it today and the drone flew the mission perfectly except for that it didn't take any images. Flew the path great though. any idea on how to correct this?

@Vosentech8 жыл бұрын
I have never tried making a 3D model of only a building but I would recommend that you manually fly your drone around the building while taking pictures and then import them into Pix4D.

Hi, do you have a crack for pix4D Mapper. i don't have money enough for this software. Thanks !
@umarmakdoom4378 жыл бұрын
Why am I getting failed process ? it says no block computed, no calibrated cameras. Can I test the software by images weren't taken by drone? Aby thoughts will be appreciated it.
@Vosentech8 жыл бұрын
Hi, If I understand correctly you are trying to use images from a normal camera in Pix4d in which case it will not work because in order to compute the 3d model, a geographical location is needed as far as I know. Hope this answers your question.
@umarmakdoom4378 жыл бұрын
+WorkshopScience thanks for your quick reply. Yes you are right I used my camera which provides X, Y and Z values. In fact I didn't use a drone to capture them. My question is am I receiving this error because I didn't use a drone even though my images have geographical info?
@Vosentech8 жыл бұрын
I have never personally tried using anything other than a drone in Pix4d but I assume that the drone also gives the angle and direction in which the camera was pointing so perhaps that may be what you are missing although I may be completely wrong about this. Maybe you are taking the photos in too small of an area so the GPS is not precise enough to position the images accurately? I also found this article on the pix4d website that might help: support.pix4d.com/hc/en-us/articles/204542375-Error-e0046-Processing-failed-Cannot-compute-the-average-ground-sampling-distance-GSD#gsc.tab=0
@roycastanares12378 жыл бұрын
May I interject, you can check whether Pix4D knows the camera calibration of the sensor you used, if not, then there is now posibility that the software can process your data even if you have geographical location. I think you can see that after you import the pictures.

Is there a place you can upload the OBJ file so people can view? I'm looking into doing this for real estate and would like to have it on the website I have the house listing on.
@Vosentech8 жыл бұрын
You can download the trial version of Pix4D and it comes with a demo model that you can export to OBJ. This model is more complete then mine so it will be better suited for you. Hope this helps.

would I be able to manually fly the route, taking pictures as I go and then upload them into the computer software without using the app on my phone. not sure I trust their automatic system
@Vosentech8 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is also possible to take the pictures manually and then process them in Pix4D.
@Vacidity8 жыл бұрын
usually flying manually results in poor image quality. It takes much longer and is very hard to keep the lines steady and you need to manually take pictures every x seconds, which is difficult. I highly recommend using an automated system. Pix4d is pretty reputable, but you should try DroneDeploy too, if you are using a DJI Phantom. If you are using a 3D robotics system, you could use mission planner for automated mapping.

"Ultimate tutorial" *Doesn't explain what the arrows do in the camera mode because you personally don't use it* *Says the options should be left alone and doesn't explain what they do*
@Vosentech8 жыл бұрын
Hello I am sorry I missed out on some of the info. The arrows in the camera view tilt the camera, similarly to the DJI GO app, the camera tilt setting is useful when mapping sides of tall buildings and the overlap can be adjusted if you are getting gaps in your mesh. Hopefully this answers some of your questions.
