Do you need to place a line of silicone on the worktop prior to placing the upstand onto the worktop, or does the upstand simply sit directly on top of the worktop and then pushed onto the wall? Thank you for the video

I put the additive at the back of upstand, between wall and upstand. Then I finish with silicon between worth and upstand. Is that explanation good enough?

Ideally you don't have to but if needed the Stanley knife or very fine sand paper

Where the upstand meets the splashback, why not cut at 90 degrees and stick some colour matched edging tape on? No messy joins to cover up!

It's the other way to do it, absolutely. But I prefer this method as tape intend to come off when will get some moisture

Although better option is worktop upstand accessory kit. Black in this case. This are small end cups made of plastic or metal. But in this case that was preferred way to do it by my customer
