World Bank CEO Ajay Banga says the world is facing a ‘perfect storm’ of crises and that he is reforming his institution to tackle them. In an interview with DW, he discusses plans to boost lending capabilities, assess risk in a different way and the new mission to eradicate poverty on a livable planet. He also explains how he sleeps at night against a backdrop of multiple challenges: climate change, food insecurity, growing poverty and pandemics. In addition, Banga shares his reaction to Argentina’s new far-right president Javier Milei’s intention to scrap his country’s central bank. Finally, he defines how success looks for him.

Just like US grants to Israel is a line of credit for their military industry and weapons manufacturing and Israel can't even look for other solutions as it's in the contract. Similarly, in Africa many lines of credits are given for Western companies. Plus, do you think Western governments do it only for charity ? Banga explained that donors look for returns of investment. Interviewer asked great questions and gave the space to answer them while the interviewee heard the questions with humility and broke down everything in an easy time digest manner. Neither of them got into ego battles. We need more such leaders and more such journalists in the world!

@@msdadsfsxTrue nothing best about India,it's a fool's paradise we love to live in,no roads,no hospitals, the poor struggle to get food on their plates, corruption ,paying heavy tax so that the politicians can lead luxurious life and list can go on.
