IF you want silent cetus3D printer please send email for silentcetus3d@gmail.com with request. If enough will sign, i will produce batch of pcb.
This is short video about my silent Cetus3D MK2 Extended printer with Trinamic stepper drivers. It is completely silent now, check this out !
All power electronics was designed from ground up to be as good as it can be :)

Such annoying attitude... Do you really think that your design is a good one? Yes, the original one is horrible but yours is not very good also. Most of the hard work is still done by MCU side. You look very proud about how small your board is, it could be smaller, tough. You used a different header to make your cabling better. Now, it is achieved by MK3 version and your PCB is not compatible with new version because cabling is well managed in the new version and cable connectors are different and not compatible with your headers. I assume that your Trinamic ICs are TMC2130 and STM32 Cortex-M0 microprocessor is only used for SPI configuration of the trinamic stepper drivers. Using trinamic drivers in 3d printers are not old news. Considering standard drivers now replacing with trinamic stepper drivers such as SilentStepStick and China version Trinamic drivers which are pin to pin compatible with Ramps boards. You also talking about USB shield grounding. Yes, you are right. It is a horrible mistake. Aslos, directly connecting the shield to the ground without a proper filtering is not a perfect approach. What a giantic Capacitor in is in the middle of the board. It look very ugly and not needed. If all different axes had their own capacitors, that would be better. In your design all of them trying to leach current from only one capacitor. What about your buzzer? It is an inductive companent and when it buzzes there will occur a magnetic field. Since you forgot the ground polygon cut under the buzzer, your ground will be affected by it. Making fun of someone else is very easy. But your work is no different and there is nothing to be so much proud of. Not even all of the Trinamic company is as much proud of their extraordinary drivers as you proud of your ordinary PCB design? How much money have you earned by selling this design? How much do you think you gonna make from it? Not as much, It would be better if you would have little bit open source soul. People would be more thankful to you, if you have mentioned about how you silenced your 3d printer with details instead of how good you are. If you read my comment until the end, you dont have a life :) or you are as much angry to the dude's attitude as I am.

Yes, we don't have any life :) I am a bit proud, but most I am happy for what i did. It is hard to make me happy, I do BGA780 FPGAs board in my work, and this is nothing compare to it, but it makes me happy to see result, and result was better than I expected. Every one who seen my 3D printer in life was amazed, just like first time i see my axis move. Regarding complains, I have answer. Each trinamic has it's own low ESL 20uF capacitor, so that one electrolytic is just for fun lets say, and i wanted to keep it cheap if i be able to sell it. Regarding buzzer, It does not do anything to my groudnplane, and it is on the side, no currents will flow below that point. About selling, around 10 people expressed interest, at this point it is not economical for me to make complete boards for people to upgrade it, I have so many projects ahead, and no time...

@@Kilohercas To be able to sell a board, necessary components should be placed into the design. At least, Ramps kind of open source designes could be good example to follow the basics. These cheap 3D printers are mostly bought by hobbyists and It is hard for them to play around with the electronics. As I assumed, there is not much people who are willing to buy the board. If you share your work at least schematics would be more beneficial and people will appreciated your work more. But for anyone who does know little bit reverse engineering at least track following capability can benefit from an open source project which is "Duet 2 Wifi". Trinamic drivers are used in it, as well. You could find schematics and source files in their github.

@@BurakEnez You know, you have a point, that would be win-win situation in some sense, i will make separate video about it. If i try to sell it, it will be complete solution, only screw driver would be needed, all of this would be preprogrammed and tested on my own hardware ( drop in replacement)

I did similar and now its an UnCetus - Gutted the electronics replaced with a AzteegX3 controller, TMC2208 (This will quite many 3D printers) only fan noise, replaced with a lighter stepper motor on the extruder with a Bondtech BMG extruder direct feed to a E3D-V6 hotend. No mo homing to the top, which was super annoying. Hotbed with PEI sheet, temp control through a Mosfet Amp.

Is it primarily the trinamic stepper drivers? I may have missed it because I was watching while cooking but did you also add new steppers?

I just received my Cetus MK3. The steppers are undeniably loud, they also get hot compared to my other printers with TMC2208 drivers. I am super interested in purchasing your custom PCB. Please let me know if and when the board will be available to purchase. P.S. I believe the main board is unchanged from the MK2. The MK3 also has built in click type limit switches. I can email you some pictures of main board if you like.

But this is a 3.5V motor, while the Cetus uses 24V motors, so how can it work?
@clintcorbin3429
@clintcorbin3429 6 жыл бұрын
@@aaronkosminsky3793 The short answer is the voltage rating of the motor is basically the maximum voltage you could apply to the motor CONTINUOUSLY without exceeding it's maximum current. But stepper motors are actually giant inductors, so the current does not (and cannot) instantly rise to the V/R level. The stepper controller pulses the voltage to maintain the correct current through the motor. I have some 1.8V rated steppers from a piece of semiconductor manufacturing equipment (A $2.5 million dollar tool) that used a 90V DC supply. The higher the voltage, the faster the motor would respond and the higher their top speed. But you have to have a controller that can monitor and limit the current fast enough to prevent damage.
