The session entitled "Empowering genitourinary cancer patients to become their own best advocates" was organised by the European Association of Urology (The Netherlands) and chaired by Wendy Yared from the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) (Belgium).
Around the world, genitourinary cancer patients are working together to become their own best advocates. In this session, speakers from diverse settings will give practical examples of how building bridges between patient organisations have resulted in better outcomes for the international cancer community.
This session aligns with Target 5 of the World Cancer Declaration as it reduces the stigma and dispels myths about cancer, as well as Target 7, as it disseminates information about accessing supportive care services.
