People generally seem to regard Sabrina as the hardest gym battle in RadRed but I personally feel it's probably Erika. Her team has a few mons on it that can be absolute monsters, but it's also JUST early enough in the game that a lot of good evolutions, moves, items etc aren't available yet to the player. By the time you challenge Sabrina, your team should be a lot more polished.

Usually i am a brute force attacker. Just spam the appropriate stab attacks. But now i'm forced to actually be tactical with this ROMhack I'm at Sabrina's gym now after 20 hours of gameplay. I'm a casual player, and take my time (always have since Blue on the original Gameboy), but some of these battles are absolute mayhem.

I'd really recommend you looking at the Hardcore Mode for Radical Red. It is an insane spike of difficulty that might be impossible to nuzlocke.

@@ningnong401 Even without taking into account the new AI and EV cheats in intense mode, those raid-styled boss battles are brutal. Those alone make the prospects of successfully nuzlocking Rejuv, even in normal mode, unlikely.

@@dausk7272 tbh rejuv normal doesn't seem too bad, intense is almost certainly infeasible exactly because of the raid fights though, iirc they get even more shields in intense another problem with V13 in general which is hugely exacerbated by intense mode is that fields have become incredibly hard to change and thus the AI has an absurd statistical advantage; pivoting is impossible because your """bulky resists""" take 40-50% minimum from field-boosted STABs from fully evolved, fully EVd mons (and your frail resists just fucking explode) so a lot of the harder intense mode fights come down to trading mons, which obviously is infeasible to upkeep and will most likely result in an unwinnable scenario somewhere down the line reborn hc nuzlocke is fun though! early game is grindy but that's changing when E19 releases, and aside from a few oddballs like PULSE Muk and Shelly there aren't really any unfair fights. furthest I've come so far is the Meteor gauntlet on Ametrine where I lost a fight bc I didn't notice Aggron overlevel and tried to protect in front of a Diggersby (dgmw I don't think any fights are unfair casually, just that bad encounter luck can make for some pretty brutal fights. for Shelly in particular you usually have to deal with rain which makes the fight a lot harder than intended if you picked a fire starter)

Reborn is such a gem. So many fights in that game kicked my ass even in a normal playthrough. I think if you prepare for all of the gyms and other tough battles it's doable, but going in blind would be so so so many wipes.
