Chess is a only game that allows you to play using your intelligence and only this, so you can measure it with a chess. And why there is women's and man's separate chess tournaments? For boxing and running I understand, nobody can deny that man's are stronger and faster.. because man have bigger muscles and harts, lungs and other organs that helping with that. Man's brain is olso bigger then woman's, but feminists are saying there nothing to see here, this only because of general body size diference, but I think evolution make our bodies to safe energy.. it will not spend energy and resources on something it will not use, so man's using this extra size for something, it's not just sitting there doing nothing. Chess is a game about intelligence and because they separating it for women and men it's seams like they know the answer, just to shy or politically correct to tell it, because it's gonna look bad if they say this even if it's true, so for them is just better to deny and live in the lie.
@Bluesky06192 жыл бұрын
Average man's body is 10% larger than an average woman, that's why their brain is 10% larger. Just like whales have larger brains than humans yet they are dumber than humans. Let's say in 50-70 more year, if women's IQ is still has a stagnant difference of 2-5 points as it is now then I think we can all settle the debate that men in general are smarter than women biologically. Also no literally in every women vs men situation, all guys state it quite evidently that men are smarter and stronger than women. Literally most people don't care about being politically correct.
@MegaAbalu2 жыл бұрын
They separated it to attract more female players; hence why they lowered females' title requirements by a few elo. (WFM, WIM, WGM etc..) But every female can still play open with men like Hou Yifan or Judit and get the "normal title" (FM, IM, GM).

can anyone explain why top level women chess players aren't as barely as good as top level male chess players? I mean i get in sports where men have biological advantage and so on but in chess there's no physical component it's just the brain,so why can almost no women GMs cope with male GMs?
@dn-anonymous3 жыл бұрын
Men are more variable than women intellectually (and I think in other ways too) so there are more men at the top and more men at the bottom. I don't know if that applies to chess (not sure if it's even been studied enough) but it would be consistent with other areas. Women's interests on average tend to differ - at 1 *day* old, boys prefer looking at a mechanical mobile; girls prefer looking at a human face. As far as I have read, this difference persists throughout the lifespan. Men get somewhat more value out of things like chess - the pressure is on you to achieve something big, whereas for women, this is still about starting a family etc. That last one is not total - not every male gets told to become a movie star, not every woman gets told to get married and have children - but there is still this difference in expectations, even if it is more fluid/balanced nowadays. Who does Hou Yifan compare herself to, when she evaluates her life? Is it Carlsen? Her mother? Mother Teresa? Her role models/anchors for comparison are likely to include many women, none of whom have won the world chess championship.
@danielmeek39973 жыл бұрын
its mostly about the amount of men playing vs the amount of women playing chess, i dont know the exact statistics but i'd have to guess it's around 90% men playing, so there will be a lot more higher level male players. even then, a lot more of the women playing chess won't be playing competitively because, like many sports, society teaches men to be far more competitive than women.

@@danielmeek3997 that doesn't make sense, Magnus became the best in the world not because there are more male chess players, but because it's what he loves and he worked until he reached his goal of being number 1, it doesn't matter if there are less female chess players, all you need is 1 to work as hard as Magnus and achieve what he has, the question is why isn't there even 1 who can come even close?
@danielmeek39973 жыл бұрын
@@tomatoisnotafruit5670 because Magnus and any other top player is 1 in a million. Not to put their skill down to luck, but you are far more likely to find men who have a brain for chess, and who have the motivation to become great at it, than women who are far fewer and far less competitive in the game currently. Basically the chances for great male players is higher than great female players because theres more of them

@@nubianpwr Their body language was very similar during most of this match - they both look quite engaged and seem to be concentrating on the action. I'm a huge fan of Magnus, but I'm really at a loss here as to why you believe his body language to be indicating boredom, or how you came to the conclusion that he wasn't exercising his enormous brain during the match.

I am also confused how you watch this and conclude that Magus somehow looks bored? His expression through most of the match is almost identical to Hou's - one of intense concentration and contemplation.
