This is a strange video in that it only highlights England's chances. True, they played well that night but the Netherlands looked out of sorts at this World Cup, which was a real shame, having been one of the best teams in the world in 1988. They had some infighting prior to this competition which affected them. They also finished 3rd, which meant they went on to play West Germany in the second Round, while Ireland went on to play the easier tie in Romania. They were unlucky but mentally, they looked totally off it. Gullit had a poor tournament.

The selection of the Netherlands thought for a moment that they would win the World Cup, but absolutely wanted Cruijff as a trainer. Michels prevented this out of fear that Cruijff would win the World Cup, which he failed to do. The Netherlands was unmotivated and easy-going, reminded me of 2002 when the selection also did not have a good relationship with Van Gaal, whom they treated as toddlers.

The ref had his hand rise up all the time to indicate it's a indirect FK. The whole England team didn't know
