Before television, people came to movie theatres to watch the news. British Pathé was at the forefront of cinematic journalism, blending information with entertainment to popular effect. The name of the song is “Rumba Matumba” by Desi Arnaz, however it is a live recording and varies from the studio version quite a bit musically, and slightly lyrically...for what it’s worth ;)

My grandfather played for the Globetrotters in the late 1950s and he said that all of them knew how to play basketball really well but they didnt allow blacks to play in the NBA so that was like the pro black basketball team and back then people wouldn't like the fact of blacks performing better than whites like that so they were some of the best black players in the world and were most likely better than most of the players in that era in the NBA

Most of the NBA can play like that. They grew up playing streetball and you can watch them on youtube perform "amazingly" in pick up games. Just type Drew League and you'll know what I mean.

Theres a guy that lives a few blocks down the road from me that played for the generals in the 60s and wasnt allowed on the globetrotters because it was blacks only andhe was white

Are you accusing the Globetrotters of discrimination? The NBA didnt allow blacks until the 1950s and even then they had a quota and just so you know, the Harlem Globetrotters integrated their team long before the NBA.

well, this is more of a stunt/performance, not exactly basketball... sure they're playing basketball, but to do stuff like this in the NBA playoffs would be impractical

Not at all. Harlem Globetrotters are typical black basketball players. Today they call it street ball, and it is just how blacks have ALWAYS played. This is where all the slam-dunking comes from in NBA. It's just black basketball style especially for FUN with the Globetrotters famous in '60s-'80s as GOODWILL ambassadors. Great guys that wonderfully represented USA around the world.
