World happily skipping towards Armageddon as a new global arms race gathers speed

Last week, the respected Stockholm International Peace Research Institute announced that global military spending has hit $2440 billion, the highest in six decades. The war in Ukraine, China-Taiwan tensions and the crisis in the middle east are all driving this record upsurge. Leaders need to negotiate an end, for when arms races begin, wars often follow.

Pravin, your analysis is so Eurocentric in terms of references, authors and strategists you quote that it leaves ( at least) me unmoved. Even though the point you wish to drive that uncontrolled arms race will take us to a mutually assured destruction is evident , the narration is more pedantic than hitting. That said, what should be the way ahead?? Scientific developments are continuing to offer even more powerful options for weaponising, fear of being left behind and subjected to discrimination by the more powerful has, is and will remain a constant. Perhaps, post another inevitable world war, your video may be referred to by some future commentaror as " prescient".Nothing more

The correct comparison would be if we convert the defense spending of the respective nations mapped to their respective PPP (purchasing power parity) and then rank them in terms of percent. China might outrun usa spending very easily.. and india might also become sizeable value
