The fact that Villanova beat the time of the Cole Hocker, Cooper Teare, James West, and Matt Wisner team is very impressive

Love that Villanova continues to excel at Penn Relays. Love that Gary Martin, a Philly area guy, pushed the final mile pace the whole time. Nova, with Murphy, a NJ guy, and Martin and his UVA teammates made this one for ages. Second fastest 4 x Mile of all time. So many exceptional milers/middle distance runners maturing through the college ranks.

Who the hell is this commentator and why have I never heard him? Grew up in the grass roots FloTrack with some unclassically trained broadcasting. Holy hell this guy has a great voice

Phil Grove! “Old school track.” In fact the first 17 seconds of this clip are me tossing to the break - Phil & Cory Mull take over from there. I got to call some races alongside both guys this weekend. As for Phil, he is pure class and a great role model. Rare to see a play-by-play announcer “get” the sport the way he does. Meanwhile Cory is simply a multi-faceted workhorse. I consider myself incredibly lucky to be in their company.

@@carsongambaro Dude sooooo awesome! I’m hearing his voice thinking - wow FloTrack has come a long way, listening to Phil figuring he’s for-hire pure broadcaster. Phil then references Eamonn Coghlan and I realized he actually knew the sport. Very jealous you get to work for such a Company at fun events like Penn Relays. Best of luck in your calls going forward and cheers. Appreciate the response

I was the audio engineer for this broadcast and all the commentators we had were a pleasure to mix and listen to for 35 hours. They were all top-notch and great to work with. I'm really glad to hear everyone is enjoying them.

Great race. Both teams ran well. Virginia guy did everything he could it looked like -- showed a lot of courage but just not enough to take the kick out of the kicker.

Gotta love the interview at the end. "Let's bring everyone together so I can direct all my questions to just one of you."

The whole race I'm thinking they got #2 collegiate time. 3 teams break the collegiate record by 10 seconds?? Crazy race

The announcer is confused. There is a big difference between the 4 x mile & 4 x 1600 almost 40 meters.

On a World basis, how many 4xMile races are run each year? How many outside the U.S.?
