Thanks for the kind words everyone! Good to be back from hiatus. It was a long and very stressful summer. It took quite a bit of work to put this video together trying to find time with the new baby. Hitting the render and upload buttons last night were cathartic. I'll try to make an update video in the next couple days as I try to get back into a new groove with all these new moving pieces.

Legit amazing game. It's obviously a big love letter to fans but the actual game is just really enjoyable. The humour is also spot on, whoever wrote the monster descriptions is a genius.

Good to have you back! Really do love these reviews. Not gonna lie, the Chibi theme is so strong and so obnoxious to me on this one (and I found FF9 rough to get into back in the day), that I'd have to give it a pass just on that note. Lucky, I suppose, that I don't have PS4 anyway so won't need to make that call end of the day lol

I want to love this game, I really do but the things you mention would irritate me too much, the stacking, the the's and some other design choices. I get its main demographic is for the younger audience and I wish I could love this game but I cannot.

I was about to start this as my first ever FF game but... Decided to leave on the shelf and play first some of the other games in the series. I want to feel the nostalgia too when the right time comes. Is my choice right or is this a good start with the series?

Mike Smith if it does, it's in Japanese. the text is still English. it's actually rather common in Japanese animation for characters to have a vocal tic like that.

I know many don't like the Funko-pop look, but for me it's the Kingdom Hearts design of the main characters that's an instant turn off for me. Could be a cool game, but this is really for newbies to FF. Square decided years ago that FF is no longer for me. Of course I'm hyped for the FFVII remake, but past that, I couldn't care less.

Elder Geek I think eventually they'll make their way to PC. I'm so stoked for the FFVII remake to release. My first FF game was actually FFVIII on PC, back in 2001 or so. They make such great games, I would love to see much more multi-platform, but I'm sure you would too as a pro-gamer journalist/gamer, and I think we will.

60 hours of "The The's" shit Randy, you've got one hell of a patience or bull shit tolerant threshold =P As always with Final Fantasy games though, I appreciate the lovely music and how nice the environments are but that's where it ends for me, it's bland, repetitive gameplay and generic characters are not interesting to me at all. I often wondered who's fantasies these are because there's no one except white people in it, racist as f**k, like with everything, variety and diversity is the spice of life ; )
