I don't really get it when people complain about AI squad members. They were pretty much like that in GRFS, but nobody brings that game up when they complain about the AI in GRW. I think they just can't make an AI teammate system that is capable of dealing with the open world. I really can't think of any game which had pulled off similar feat.

Finally a review that totally mirror my opinions about this game. There were definitely a big potentials, but again Ubisoft ruined it. Not worth it right now, but I am definitely planning to buy this on sale, maybe when 70%+ off.

I don't agree with everything you said, as I love the convos between squad mates, lead to a lot of moments where I couldn't help but laugh. The story is actually in the realm of realism, and at first while I didn't care for it, the more I saw the damage I caused to El Sweno(sp), the more I wanted to keep going. Also, you're the first reviewer to notice that every thing you grab is it's own mission! Single player is not that bad, I play both. The AI just needs to be told to go fire when crap hits the fan so you can find cover, and it helps to call rebel support when it's an all out shoot out. This is one of the best sandboxes I've played. I didn't like how squad members teleported at first, but they have to, because when you're running away from say, Unidad, they need that to keep it fair for the player.

Tom Clancy passed away near 4 years ago, and even before then, Ubisoft was just milking many of their games by prepending 'Tom Clancy' to the title name. I still enjoy many of the titles, but I must admit that the stories used to be better when Tom Clancy was actually involved in the way back, way back days.

Great, Great Review...... My question is if Ubisoft is really listening...could they fix the bigger problems in patch releases or is that highly unlikely or impossible? I wanted to do a review also but you hit all the points and I hope Ubisoft watches this review. Here are some of my opinions!! Make the AI squad more tactical and add better commands for ROE. And squad member should have specific roles(sniper, heavy arms/demolition expert, reconnissance, team leader, etc. That's what I'm trying to do online) More weapon parts and less sniper rifles: I feel as though everyone online running around with sniper rifles dropping helicopters is far too unrealistic. I do like that most weapons are similar in a sense that if you could shoot an enemy once and they can go down(more realistic) and more weapon parts would make it feel a little unique. And go a bit more in-depth realistically with weapon parts and how they make for a better weapon. Add some weight/texture to the weapons: Is it just me or do the weapons kinda look/feel like replica water/nerf guns Definitely fix the AI sync shots and flight vehicle controls. When pvp releases(or has it yet) it should be on a tactical platform. It should be tvt!! Team vs Team. What team can clear a mission better than another team? Introduce impossibly difficult missions that would force a team to complete mostly in a tactical fashion with only one sniper per team. I mean just imagine where you can go with this!! Some other little things I can't think of right now..... The game is beautiful though. Great Job Ubisoft!!

I mean just imagine....you and your coop buddies are playing online....every member has a dedicated role. You are on headed up some mountain to engage a mission and a rebel ops mission pops up(tag the medical truck), no biggie for you and your elite team. You guys have to run back down this mountain to engage the med truck. As team approaches the road, Squad leader tells the sniper to take a position, demolition plants c4 to ambush guard convoy and takes a position on the other side of the road, team leader and reconnaissance also take their positions....Blow the C4, take out the guards, tag the truck for rebels and head back to your primary mission. No biggie. This could be even be implemented in a tvt match!!

Play on extreme and no hud or atleast no markers for an experience close to the original GR. Your playing it wrong otherwise [if you want it close to the original that is] if not then your just conforming to what gamers seem to want these days ie a simplistic experience. Order your squad to stay put somewhere away from your mission is the same as a turn ai off feature.

I had a bug with the sniper rifle where I could not kill anyone with it. The bullet would hit them and do nothing. Also had a bug parachuting into water and clipping underneath it. resulting to some hellishly texture underwater ground. The game is buggy, The game runs like crap but, I actually like it.

great review; i subbed. this game intrigues me, but not as much as it did when i saw it had the ghost recon moniker. im only really a fan of the first in the series and it's expansions, playing them to this day. and you're obviously 100% correct: while this looks like an entertaining game, it does not look like remotely like the open-world ghost recon of my imagination.

The ai does know where you are at all times.. Launch a mortar strike from a different location? The ai will run right up to you even if your several hundred meters away

well one thing that bug me out and its about the AI and their insane ability to konw everything is something you might not have encountered. when you shoot someone and no1 hears it or see it but later see the body its a dice cast on weither or not they go suspected or hunted mode, if in hunted mode regardless of how hidden you are all enemies go to you and your squadmates exact position they know instantly were you all are even if they dont shoot back

To be honest, I am a bit afraid of what Ubisoft is doing with the Tom Clancy formula. Before, Tom Clancy games were all about planning, tactics and strategy like Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell and now, it is becoming more and more like a guilty pleasure game series. Don't get me wrong, The Division, for example, was quite fun and had some strategy elements put in the game but not as much you would expect in a Tom Clancy game.

honestly, biggest problem for me is the gunplay, i feel im discouraged to ever use a sniper as the velocity and bullet drop is a joke... not to mention you must use a supressor and its near impossible to shoot over 500m, which is far from long range

general gunplay, id 100% agree if great excluding snipers... however i could like to clarify why i dislike snipers. as someone who knows about bullet ballistics and used to shoot F-class rifle shooting im used to semi realistic bullet trajectories and bullet drop in games (of which in games of old was closer to real life speeds). the reason why i dislike snipers in modern games is there has been a large shift with AAA games to slow bullet speed down (to almost bow and arrow speeds (IRL) and have bullet drops that are near ridiculous. (battlefield franchise is a good example) id also like to say, my information was from the open beta and bullet speeds may have changed, but from the video i dont think they did. *this is just me, im sure people love the sniping, i personally dont*

THE REVIEWERS hate the A.I. because the A.I. varies with the difficulty levels. Seems like they're all reviewing BABY MODE. The A.I. is great on the harder difficulty. This is one of the best games ever made for the console. It's up there with Red Dead and GTA.

I keep hearing that.....But I went from regular to advanced and still noticed some bizarre things the AI would do. And I also heard that once you get the "team leader" medal, your AI would get better too. I just want Rainbow Six Vegas style tactical commands, fix sync shots, more weapon parts, etc. This game is near perfection and fuckin beautiful to watch.

The world maybe open, but it is empty (or just filled with copy and paste things) so most likely than not, I just use a helicopter to get from point A to B which just wastes time. GHOST RECON WILD LANDS REVIEW: After playing GRWL for 10 days I can honestly say that this is the second coming of GTA. GRWL is one of the greatest console games ever released. It is comparable to Red Dead Redemption, GTAIV, GTAV and Skyrim. People kill me: GTA 5 is the highest rated game on PS4 and rightfully so, it's great. but you can walk down the street with an automatic rifle and no cops stop you (realism?). you can also control your car in mid-air with your controller...in skyrim there's nothing but open terrain with nothing to do as well - another 9.5 out of 10 rated game. But oh no! this game here lacks realism, the driving SUCKS (i guess because you can't control it in mid-air) and there's too much land and nothing to do!! these new gamers are just flat out weirdos. period.

Super Dynamite Agreed. However, there are 4 things that would make it shine even more. 1. The squad & enemy AI need a little work. 2. Allow squad AI to drive vehicles so the player could be a passenger. 3. Have the rebels take over previously cartel/Unidad bases once all missions for a province are complete. Then add rebel "Base Under Attack" support missions. The player would help to defend the Base with a timelimit. If overrun and player dies, then control of the Base goes back to cartel/Unidad and would need to be retaken. 4. Add rebel convoy support missions. Player provides security to a rebel convoy and fend off attacks.
