15:20 Trevor Nation had recently raced at the North west 200 & crashed heavily,badly damaging the tendons in his hand just prior to this race. Rather than miss the opportunity to ride at the world of sport superbike challenge he ingeniously divised a modification to his gloves, using press-studs with lengths of strong elastic between them thus allowing his mangled fingers to grip the handbars. A lovely bloke but as mad as a box of frogs.
