HEAT may lack normalisation, but it gets a far more favourable bounce angle then AP by default, if I remember correctly it's 85 degrees for HEAT vs ~72-75 degrees (70 degrees + 2-5 normalisation) for AP. This means that HEAT is acctually superior to AP vs angled surface except when you count in "overmatch", where AP can overmatch armour thiner then 1/3 of the AP shell's caliber, while HEAT doesn't get the overmatch mechanic. Also HEAT can get defeated by spaced armour (at least if there is sufficient space between the spaced armour and the main armour plate), while AP can still pen if the spaced armour doesn't decrease it's pen enough (as here only the max thickness of spaced+main armour counts). This is one of the reasons why 105 mm HEAT can obliterate Swedish TDs while the AP/APCR from them would simply bounce. P.S.: Please correct me, if I am wrong.

what puzzles me - the IS7 was 2-3 bounced shots away from completing HT12-3, and the M103 was so willing to give them to him - and he killed him anyway, not even trying to bounce shots, and the M103 was no threat whatsoever to anybody... that was just overly greedy by the protagonist in this video. though I have to admit that I do not know whether he already completed the mission and now just has to complete it with excellence, but still...

Nice game by the IS-7, but I wanted to point out that only the lower plate and a narrow strip of the upper hull of the T10 STRV is 40mm, the rest of the upper plate is 50mm (some parts 60mm), so you need 151mm+ caliber gun to reliably overmatch the upper hull.

JINGLES the STRV 103 B has 50 mm and 60 mm of armour over most of the front of the tank. Unless the IS 7 hit a couple small strips of 40 mm or the cupola of the STRV he would automatically bounce.

"Crying shame if he lost" i mean not really. He made plenty of tomato mistakes to warrant him losing. Gave his side to the STRV after killing the M103, instead of staying behind the wreck for a few seconds and backing up straight. He fired while going nearly 60kph over rough terrain at a STRV which he didnt even have the full sillhouette of, a STRV 103B on full HP while he had 4 shells remaining. He then fires his HE shell at the front of the STRV where it has that convenient HE/HEAT magnet, instead of sitting in the cap, stalling it, and forcing the STRV with more health to come into melee. Which if he backed up properly after the 103, he'd have been able to take 3 shots, and actually outplay the STRV by getting the flanks with HE hits, instead of relying on dumb luck. It is not a crying shame when dumb luck does not bless you to make up for foolishness. It's just the world doing as intended with mistakes.

Honestly wouldn't have been so close if sgtbash had properly aimed his shots on the M103. M103 sits there in the open, and sgtbash is in hull-down cover, yet he rushes the shots and doesn't aim at the easy cupola. He also wastes a shot on the Strv when he only has 4 shots left, which I can't understand.
