the kv-2 is one of those tanks that, stat wise, sucks. armor's, poor, view range, radio range, all poor, you name it, but that 152mm howitzer is so epic and hilarious that you just dont care. you forget all the stats and just derp in the face whatever crosses your path

One of the scariest things in this game is close combat in a 3/4 health KV-1S with a KV-2. You knew it just shot, but not how long ago. So you take your fast reload while the KV-2 just sits there with the derp hammer, just daring you to wait and let it rip you an entirely new one, forming an entirely new body for the new one to be ripped in the process. That's how babies are made.

Usually when I play KV-2 I ask my friend to take me with him when he takes his 9-10 lvl tanks. That's how you play KV-2 - you go and damage M103 in his front for ~350 dmg. You can damage every tank in the game with HE fired from KV-2's 152mm gun for 300+ damage - tested it myself. That's why he's that good.

KV-2 with 152mm is one of the few tanks that won't leave my garage... moved up the tier line, but still keep my troll machine... this thing rolls out with aura of fear on it no matter the tier of the opposition... :D

Jingles, one thing I learned from a German youtuber when I was a noob: If you go around a corner, keep your gun down! It really makes a difference, even more if your tank has such a long aimtime. Watch you video again: Ike does it correctly, but you go into anti aircraft mode quite often...

As opposed to the docile TOG II, the KV-2 is more of a herding dog among tanks, as it has to support others who have a quicker reload time.

Love the KV-2. It doesn't matter what tier u get placed in, it can and WILL damage everything! Feasting tears of people getting one shotted, and sometimes pulling off miracle shots from 500+ meters away is oh so sweet. One of the most fun machines in the game 8)!

That maneuver the KV-1S pulled is rare, but not unheard of. I've seen a few IS-3s in tournaments pull it off from broadcasted tournament matches. You basically turn a frontal turret tank into a backwards VK4502B. Sometimes with better side armor. It's just odd to maneuver in and takes time just to get it right. The KV at tier 5 was an absolute dream, but there was no doubt that the monster was utterly OP. I've sold my KV-2 and have retrained the free crew to other tanks.

What that KV1S was doing was actually very smart, he was doing a reverse side scrape so his turret would be farther back on the tank and he would hide his frontal and rare armor better

It's true... therefore its an absolute gem when you work together with someone who knows what he's doing... I was on Swamp in my Tiger 1 with an Su12244 in a tier VII game... to the end, we ended up being the last ones alive and we worked together to kick the enemy team's arse. That game was awesome, despite the fact I didn't make much credits out of it.

I actually pack 6 AP rounds in case I get into a medium-rich match or a tier 6 match. AP works like magic on tier 6. Such a satisfying item. You can smell the fear even 2 tiers above.

Really slick editing on this one Jingles! Love the KV-2 though. I swear that the 152mm has bugged dispersion or something. A remarkable number of shots seems to go straight down the pipe with it, even when you're not fully aimed. I got my mastery with it by sniping on El Halluf.

KV-2 with derp gun is pure fun. I have played it a lot the last few days. I have 7500 battles in this game, and a lot of tanks. Tier 9 and 10. But tier 6 - 8 battles is most fun. KV-2 is a beast. Can carry a tier 8 game with HE and 152 mm gun. Fear factor is big. Fun to see enemy desperately reversing when I come around a corner. Dont go front line without good support. Enemy can kill you fast. Its primarily a second line tank. Dont go alone. Acc. buff made this tank to a sniper too.

Back at the beginning of the open Beta there was a group of players on the NA server that did platoons of KV-2 with the 152. They also formed a clan called, what else, DERP! Until more players got up to level 7-8 that were able to defeat them they PWND every town map!

Yesterday fired a shot at an Indien Panzer's turret. Guy was on full health, then all of a sudden only had 300 left. It's one of those tanks that is very rarely respected by higher tier tanks, and people do pay the price for it.

At your suggestion, I have been playing the King of Derp, but I call it Frank N Derp. The thing is mad funny in high tier battles, and just wacky in battles vs KV-IS. But what I have found is that in lower tier matches, I am starting to load out a combination of both AP, and HE. Alternating rounds as quick as I can for the job at hand. AP on tier V and lower tanks in the face sets them on fire, but HE does about 350 damage plus module damage. God this thing is fun!

My buddy who plays the KV-2 carries a bit of normal AP ammo too, which has a bit more penetration, just enough to matter, and still one shots many Tier VI tanks and you've got a little bit less of a gamble at consistent damage. He still uses mostly HE of course though.

KV-2 (Derp Lord) is an odd beast. Without being overly effective on the whole, it can easily one-shot Hellcats and KV-1Ss, probably the two most common tier 6 tanks. It also has a tendency to scare the shit out of even tier 8 heavies. Last night I was on a team that was getting massacred in a very tier 8 game, and single-handedly held up an IS-3, T34 and Hellcat at one corner for about 4 minutes without even firing a shot, because none of them wanted to risk eating some derp.

I one-shotted a T29 and a Tiger on a battle with the KV-2. Almost a mid-quarter engagement, these two tanks just started exposing their sides in order to get a shot of me. Did 1000+ damage plus fire and I just enjoyed that spectacle.

Actually, as someone who used to play the KV-2 a Ton, and have a Tiger for comparison, i can assure you that the spread is about even over both, Part of the deception is because the more accurate guns also do less damage, and fire much faster, so where a Tiger might get 30 shots out with 6 going wide, a KV-2 might only get about 6 shots out, with 1 going wide. Also, the Derp guns normally fire from a closer range, meaning that inaccuracy is mostly negated.

It's a scout vehicle, it gets scout matchmaking which means it can get into Tier 8 games.

People do the same thing the american T34. It's actually highly effective because the turret is so far front. as long as your rear is behind cover, it works fantastic. KV-1S guy in the video... well he just didn't take enough space to maneuver.

I play on the 360 and we recently got Soviet tanks. I have never gone through T6 and T7 tanks as fast as I've gone through the KV-1S and IS (forgoing the derp cannon on the SU-100 for the DPM of the first pack). I love the Soviet tanks so much.

I love my KV-2, I had a battle just before 8.8 went live where I did 3.5K damage, got Defender, Spartan, and (most surprisingly, as I clutch-fired a few shots) Sniper!
