You get 91 average pen on the Excelsior and that can even struggle against a KV-1. Looks like another attempt to get people to buy premium ammo

I really wish when he does tank reviews that he wouldn't use premium consumables and ammo. That way people that don't use them can get a more accurate idea of what said tank will pen and where it will. Also the proper mobility and aim time. I know using a 100% crew effects this also but many people have 100% crews. Im not bitching because I do like his tank reviews and appreciate the time he puts into them but its just something I think every time I watch one and see that premium consumable and all the premium ammo he loads. Not vary many people that are playing tier five tanks can afford 20,000 credit consumables per battle. I don't know it could only be me who thinks this but again thanks for the tank review QuickyBaby.

Yes yes I know I watched that video and utilized that information last night when I bought 200 of practically each consumable except for the premium ones. I also didn't mean to offend with my comment and like I said before I don't have any problem with a 100% crew at all and yes I do know it is a premium tank and training your crews from other tanks is what its for like you said in your video. But you do have a point, most players wont be using cola in this tank, and will be train new/ish crew. Thing I like to do in this cases is; put a new commander that need 6th sense and a good trained crew, that way he will get xp from tank and train twice a fast (more if you count daily double). I use this technique in regular tanks too, like T29 where its commander went to T32 with a new crew giving it a sixth sense and bigger commander bonus for rest of the crew.

I moved my American heavy crew to each new tank I bought after the T1 Heavy. I stopped them in the M103 because I already had an E5 100% crew from when they did the rampage and such. My crew that came from the T1 Heavy now is setting in my M103 working on finishing up their fourth skill. I do this with every tank line I run also. Use gold to train them to 100% on the next tank and put a 85% crew in the old tank.

Of course, for crew training, gold is the best, for those who have it. Isn't it too disappointing to play an old tank with new bad crew, and wouldn't be easier and more economic to pay training for a new crew (72544 xp from 75% to 100%) rather then the old one for that extra 10% (39153 xp). I also plan to put female crew in T110E5, as I read on forums it's worth it and it needs only 4 crew members.

I bought mine, and i love it, you're a powerhouse in tier 5 and in tier 6-7 you have the speed to act like a light. the gun depression gives you the ability to be a little "cheeky" with poking on higher tier tanks. The gun wont always carry you guys, but if your a skilled player who likes lid tier tank absolutely go for it

I got this yesterday, I got an Ace Tanker on my 7th game. I am making ~1000 exp on defeats. Even with terrible matchmaker match ups if you play it intelligently you can earn a crap load of credits and exp even on defeats. Take 80% HE, 10% APCR and 10% AP ( or no AP it is pretty useless ).

Looks like they drew up a Sherman to use Navy face-hardened armor, but then dropped it when they found they would not be able to get any supplies.Probably when they dropped this is when they tried to see if the Sherman could survive with its gross weight raised to 84000 pounds, which resulted in the Jumbo.

I only played it a few games so far, but it did OK. Decent armour, good mobility and the turret traverse was to my liking. I was already used to the gun from playing the T14 and Excelsior, both who use the same main gun, if I understand it correctly. All in all I don't regret getting it.

I'm currently at Tier VI up american medium tank line (with my Sherman Jumbo), and that being my highest tier, I was really suffering at it since it really doesn't make money like lower-tier tanks do (at tier V, particularly). So, I got the M4 Improved when I was already playing 'at' its level, and it suits my playstyle well enough. I like it. It lets me make money, train up crews for my M4 and the Jumbo and doesn't force me to play in Tier VIII matches. No premium MM, of course, which would've been lovely as this is my first non-gift premium tank... I'm used to the low-pen guns since I'm still grinding with the Lee (which has the same gun) for my T1 Heavy, but if there's one thing that this tank could improve it would be the cannon.

I like it. You just have to not waste time shooting at things you won't be able to pen. Use your mobility and great view range (for the tier) to get in positions to flank softer targets. And don't expect to be hero in tier 7 matches.

Every time he fired a round it was 100% accurate straight on the reticle. I've heard of lucky but this happens on all of his videos. A gun with .41 accuracy and he gets that kind of performance. I never thought about it until now, and no it was not just luck. I challenge you to go back and watch a video or two of his and see where the rounds go.

The gun on the M4 Imp, is roughly the same as that of the M3 Lee, as they are technically the same gun, or at least in name, (75mm M3), now that being said, it has a higher impact for HE than most tanks with a similar caliber. So I'd recommend running an equivalent amount of AP and HE, because you can do decent damage rolls with the 75mm M3, which is something most don't realize when running the M3 Lee, you'll most likely do more damage with HE to light tanks, because the high impact of the shell. yes it tends to travel quite slow, but it still keeps a higher impact. can't quite explain how that would make any sense, but hey, it's World of Tanks, and not a game with Uber realistic physics, like War Thunder.

Ive got one. My Tank has "Furious" on the side. I like the tank actually, good for side scraping. I do like low tier. And having a tier 4 Luchs with over 5000 battles proves that a Luchs is the Funniest and Most entertaining tank to drive. Taking out a Tiger by hugging his side,slamming 30mm round after 30mm rounds into his side while his gun can't depress low enough to shoot you is quite Hilarious!!

The difference was with the M4 with the 76mm. The M4 Improved has the 75mm and that's the difference in the tanks. I've been playing my M4 with the 75mm and I've had a lot more success with the improved. The 76 although good, isn't really needed unless you're against tier VI heavies and tier VII's. I quite enjoy playing the M4 improved and the M4 but depending on gun choice with the M4, I find the improved to be much better.

I got a couple of these recently from Christmas/New Years boxes on the Russian server. Not a good tank at all but still keeping one because I collect tanks even if I don't use them much. I did get the IS-3A in one of the boxes, though along with a couple KV-220-2, Turan proto, 7800 gold, and about a half million credits and a bunch of low value prizes so it wasn't a bad run overall for 20 boxes.

Ive been using this on and off for quite awhile. It was not worth it. I really like the tank, it feels like it should perform better. Nothing ricochets off my armor, only a quarter of my shots penetrate. Its pretty much a mosquito. It might be my play style but it feels like this tank is meant to entice you in with the bonuses to xp and then serve you to the people using proper tanks.

it's really stupid how WG are doing away with the notion of preferential MM. Theyre shooting themselves in the foot. If youre gonna sell mediocre premium tanks, at least give them them something a little special. Extra credits & xp are not really going to sell it on its own. pref mm is the main reason i got the pz4hydro, e25 and super pershing.

If you're paying real money for a tank it would be nice to get a little more out of it. This tank will be almost completely useless in a tier 7 game.

I have the tank. It's a decent tank. The gun it's the same as the top gun on M3 Lee with worse accuracy... but the gun is much more accurate on the move(and circling) than regular sherman. Just had a circle fight with chrome wheels and won. And for higher tier matches you have to play about the same you would if you used a derp gun on regular sherman - i.e. support as QB says.

I actually enjoyed this thing when I played it. Sure the gun can be really bad, but the speed and power tow eight are quite good. This allows you to get a rounds the sides of tanks fairly easily. Just don't try fighting tier 7 heavies with it obviously.

the 92mm of pen...well same as T14 and Excelsior. Same goes for accuracy. If RNG loves you, you can dominate a game, if not, you will be frustrated. Good Crew helps (hitting weakspots...). I love the tank. Strangely if FEELS less mobile, although it isn't.

lots of comments... I have and really like my M4 so I bought the M4 improved. The best reason I think to buy any prem tank is for crew training and this tank is great as a trainer. I do not use it like an M4 as that will get you killed. I find using it as a scout works well in tier 7 matches and a high dpm gun works well in many places where u can pop out and get a few side shots. For me it is worth it, for others... depends how you play it and what you expect from it. Try brawling with it... lol.

As I'm collecting the Shermans, this one is a must for me. Had a lot of fun playing it so far. I miss the 105 of my Regular M4 or from the British Sherman III, but the armor, at tier V, is sooo much better...like the T14. It's a lot quicker and can go around tanks a lot quicker than the T14 though, so that's awesome. At tier 5, It can be played like the 3E2 jumbo at tier 6. Smartly but Aggressively ;) Oh... another thing.. Even though it does not have match making advantages, I was quite lucky so far.. no Tier VI fights yet... (crossing fingers).

Really do love my M4 and play it a lot. When this tank release I was super excited. Though now not so much. Why did WG have to place the 75mm cannon on this tank? If this is the improved version wouldn't the train of thought be to place the best cannon on it as possible???? At least give us the 76mm!!! I had high hopes that this would be the American version of the Cromwell Berlin. I am pretty pumped about trying to find out more on the history of this tank and to see what the proposed deployment configuration for it was.

Good review. Fair assessment. I wish that you would stop using premium consumables like Cola, it gives an unrealistic idea for a average player of a tank. I like it, a fast medium, and it is a MEDIUM where you have to flank and shoot weak spots. Not sure what people are expecting there at tier 5. In the NA we got a 20$ and a 40$ which kind of grinds my gears because I would drop 12$ on this, but naw, not 20. That reverse speed is a wonderful asset. The thing zooms around and should have no problems flanking.

I took a risk and bought the Improved over here on the NA server, and its..underwhelming. The armor is somewhat trollish, the chassis is awesome, the gun needs to be on a tier 3 or 4. But, the "balance" of premiums requires that...really wish they'd used the M1A1 76mm instead, because that would have made it a truly epic tank (although it also would have basically made another Fury). As for our bundles...its 20US for the tank, slot, 1000gold, 7 premium days, and a 100% crew. Or, you can pay 40US for all of that plus increasing the premium time to 30 days and a bit more gold. I went with the 20 package, since a tier 5 just isn't worth $40, IMHO.

+sunac Pretty sure it comes with a 100% crew. But most people will have a US medium crew to put in it, that's pretty much the reason to buy it. Bought mine on Wednesday and because I have that, the Fury, the T23E3, the Super P my M46 Patton crew got 5 games with the x5 bonus plus 4 games had premium bonus, so probably got around 30-40k XP. I suspect it will get a buff soon, they need to buff that pen.

It's fantastic as top tier. Rubbish in a tier 7 game in a support role. Though works fine as a scout if need be. It def needs a buff in the ammo type of some sort. Though the AP is more then enough vs the O-I's upper side armor. So it def needs to flank more so then not at times. Definitely a tank for the more patient player. The same gun works fine on the T14 HT. But then again, that don't see tier 7 either.

Well I had a 4 skilled crew to get it going, recon and situational awareness + binocs. 505m max listed view range.

It gets pref mm on console, I like it quite well on console much better then the ripper with it's horrid hatches that affect gun depression

The SEA deal is much better 100% crew +1000 gold+7 days premium time. for 18.37 usd or for 37.13 usd you get 100% crew + 3500 gold + 30 days Premium, +Enhanced gun laying drive, Medium caliber gun rammer , Improved vents class two ....

M4 Improved ~ just 1 thing it will see Tier 7 tanks and a lot!OB, please play this again but now at Tier 7? or even Tier 6?lol, the guns 92mm penetration even for T5 is low very low at Tier 7 even the Premium or Gold ammo is not good and quickly get very expensive to run if you just fire Gold ammo - otherwise the 92mm pen is not going to do much

Hey QB, I know it's an old tank but would you care to make a review of the T-25, you don't have any content of it and I think it's a great tank on tier V, I just bought it like a week ago and it's just flat out padding my stats(I'm a potato) I would love to see you play it and show a few unicummy stuff to do with it :)

The Ram II isn't particularly good, but it does have real armour, heavy tank health, and very good APCR compared to its standard AP pen. That's a functional premium. This M4 just pales horribly in comparison; it's like a combination of the worst traits of all the other American tier 5 mediums. Rather a shame really, since if it were placed at tier 4 it'd be at M8A1/Hetzer/T-28/T-80/Ke-Ho levels of actually pretty good.

you would think that WG not making any preferential MM tanks would at least give their new tanks decent penetration..... whats the point of having bonus XP and gold income if you cant even do the dmg that gives you those 2 things....

If you want to play a good tank and are much better at tier 5 to play is the M4 Sherman, pz.kpfw. 4 ausf. H, Sherman 3, type 34 and my personal favorite the T-34 with the 57mm. Most of the tier 5 medium tanks are better then the M4 improved. Even the Matilda at tier 4 is going to rekt this tank.

Most people in the M4 Sherman and the Sherman 3 use the 105 derp gun with 12 degree of gun depression and an average penetration of 53 which has a good chance of penetration the M4 improved and the armor on the M4 improved is not going to hold up against HE ammo well. The T-34 and the Type 34 with the 57mm gun has a way better rate of fire and DPM then the M4 improved, the 57mm gun has a average penetration of 112 with AP and has 189 average penetration with APCR and has a .34 accuracy with the gun. The Pz.Kpfw. 4 Ausf. H most people who play this tank use the 105 derp gun and has a better rate of fire with it's 105 then the M4 Shermans 105mm and has a pretty troll frontal armor. The M4 improved mobility is good but you don't always have the opportunity to flank your enemy's and the gun average penetration is bad with it's AP which is 92 and it's APCR which is 127 and the accuracy is only .42 which is only good for close quarters combat and you don't what to fight a heavy tank in close quarters with that penetration. this tank will struggle against most heavy tanks at it's own tier and that's at tier 5 what going to happen at higher tiers when it has to face a KV-2 or a O-I with there derp gun or an IS, Tiger (p) or an T-29 and there armor, so no this is a bad tank and going to struggle to stay competitive in most match's it get in.
