Yeah so far the Patriot, the Liberte and the Defender (the special skin for the 252...not sure which we're getting first, I know the Russkies are probably getting the Defender for their national patriot day thingy) are better than their tier 8 equivilents, though the IS-3 does have more DPM and better accuracy (0.44 vs 0.38) but lower alpha (252 is around 1.9k DPM while the IS-3 is around 2.1k DPM). I'd actually say against the IS-3, the 252 is fairly balanced, trading accuracy and DPM for higher alpha and armor.

TheTemplarnight wrong, a 200 mm thick lower plate when Un angled is almost impenetrable to most tier 8 tanks when not firing gold and the cupolas are very short and require the shot to hit dead centre to go through even with decent pen. Like the skorpion and t26e5 this is a hideously over powered tank.

Prototypes are usually the equivalent of a hand made boomerang versus a factory made one. The prototype has, hopefully, been carefully made with experts mechanics and custom parts. The production models would be made mass produced by unskilled labor with not as good quality materials so they perform worse. Prototypes can also be more expensive to make and countries will sometimes drop features to make it less expensive to manufacture on a large scale.

The first part of your argument has no basis in WoT, because manufacturing quality is not considered when balancing vehicles. And not to be a stick in the mud, but prototypes are even less mechanically stable than production models, because they involve components that have never been used together before. The M18 "Hellcat" is a good example of this. The early prototypes had Christie suspension, which were scrapped because it proved to be unreliable. The second iteration used the M4's torsion bar suspension, but that drastically increased the weight of the vehicle. The final (production) model used a proprietary torsion bar design that was lighter, without compromising vehicle effectiveness. But even that model had issues, mainly with its main gun's muzzle blast, and was further improved by adding a muzzle-braked version. You can design prototypes till the sun burns out, but the vehicles need to be battle-tested to determine their worth, and improved if possible. Tl;Dr Prototype vehicles are less effective than the battle-tested versions.

I 3 marked my IS6 about 2-2.5 years ago. One of my most played tanks. Love it. Was always at the top of the team. I did HT 15 for the first 3 mission tanks in it. This past year, maybe 1 in 10 games I get more than 2.5k dmg. Half of them I maybe do 1.5k if I'm lucky. Used to block 3k like it was nothing. Now I'm lucky for over 1k blocked. The IS6 has been obsolete for some time now. It needed love. Not a replacement.

I do admit I have not IS3d in a while although I have used it a lot in the past, mostly when I still did tank companies, aside from grinding the is7. When comparing the stats, however, the two tanks are mostly identical other than the is3 having a tiny bit more dpm, and this tank more alpha and better armor. If you think losing 100 dpm is not worth having much more effective (esp frontal) armor, especially as you're usually not going to be firing as soon as every single reload is done, I'm not sure how you play your is3

I always thought that soviet heavies at tier 8 or above were 'noob'-tanks, especially the IS-7. Not much skill needed to perform well in them... There are other tanks of course that fall into this category as well, even though for different reasons. (FV215B 183 for example) The reality is, if this game was all about skill, about 90% of the players would've gone playing other games a long time ago...

So the Live Oaks game, and talks of lemming trains.. On that map it's pretty valid to take the west and use the ridge to battle the remaining enemies. When you see the team setting up for this strat, go defend the lower corner of the ridge at H3, or sit back in the dip at E3-4. Much easier to deal with the enemy mediums and lights as they cross the open ground. And you will be helping your team rather than dying alone. A big part of team play is actually trying to figure out what the team is doing. If it doesn't make sense to you, maybe try something funky, but fighting west to east instead of south to north on this map kinda does make sense with that awesome ridge along the length of the map.

Jingles has the history of the 252U wrong. The 252 and the 253 were the two prototypes of the IS-6, the 252 had large diameter road wheels (no return rollers) and a mechanical transmission. The 253 had small diameter wheels (with return rollers) and an electromechanical transmission. The gun that they were planned to receive was the 122mm gun D-30T, which included assisted loading, but it just wasn't finished in time. And thus they were tested with the D-25T that was used in the IS-2. The Object 252U is an improved design of the IS-6, it features an improved armor layout: more symmetrical and angular turret, pike nose. And it also was planned to use the D-30T. Object 252U was not built because the IS-6 project was cancelled. Object 252 and Object 253 were built, Object 252 is the one we have in both WoT and WT. The one in WoT gets the D-25T, and the one in WT gets the D-30T.

wow jignles the second game let me speachless. first mistake was going on the weaker side willingly and the second, most noobish misplay was to not urn the turret while retreating.

Jingles you make it sound like this is the right and correct direction the game needs to be heading into. That this sort of content is, a more or less, a fabulous addition to the game as is. A game which has issues regarding power creep, AS IS. I do like the video's production how ever, as usual :) But I do find the lack of some critical note from you, knowing you went to Cyprus in early 2015, a bit lacking on the subject of the upcoming content.

i love replays from WG accounts. got to love them 9 skilled crews to showcase 'standard battle plays' not to mention the fact that you almost never venture in tier X matches on those accounts

To be honest, this tank is very capable of fighting tier 10s, its gun is great, it's armor is effective against most mediums, and maybe a heavy or two, and I find it effective to play as a support heavy, tailing behind other tier 10 heavies, and poking out from behind them.

Jingles you never learn, stop going to a flank that you know is going to lose to be a hero for the team. You will just get outnumbered and die and the flank will be lost anyway. Instead go somewhere where you can win, and help your team by being in a position for the inevitable base defense. Those games lost were down to you to a large extent, being in an almost indestructible tank at top tier. I learned a lot from you when I started to play this game but the habit of going to the flank that is in acute danger is the hardest and worst habit I had to unlearn

This thing is going to be an ABSOLUTE nightmare to fight against in tier 6-7s. I sure hope this tank will have a balancing factor besides the tiny "weakspots" that require Rng to hit.

I'm waaay to old for school and - as I am a 51% player - this is just the tank for me! After a dozen or more frustrating battles in German heavies (maybe except fot the recently buffed Löwe), I'll get into this one and get rid of all the frustration :-) Yay!!

In the fight where you ran away, when you reached the hilltop you should have turned around and stood your ground, providing view for your team, aswell as surviving longer

Jingles, top tip when fighting t29s, t34s and t30s, despite the extreme sloping on the top of the turret, there are patches of armor, decent sized, that are 30 mm thick, and i think 37 mm thick, so you can overmatch the roof of the tanks I just mentioned by firing at them with a big enough gun. I get lots of giggles whenever i do 390 damage with a russian (well chinese, since I play the WZ-111 alot) gun to a t34 by firing at his roof armor, when he thinks he is invincible in a hull down position.

Well, I love the fact, the players didnt relized yet, that you can use your gun to block shots, for example the is3 is hella strong up close when you use your gun to block the shells they try to shot into your cupola... ;)
