SirFoch may not have gone about it the right way but he is correct. This pay to win is unbalancing the game. The new power creep tank lines make playing our older favorite tank lines not very enjoyable anymore. I remember my German St Emil having a speed and turn radius nerf and now I think why! with all these OP tanks around. WG had a good game but the greed is ruining game play and balance. Sick of WG for a long time now and I'm glad SirFoch has brought these issues out.

T-43 penning with "some ease" did we watch the same replay? I went through and counted, the T-43 hit him 10 times, 2 shots penned... and from the looks of it one of those was into the side armor with APCR when he was angled a bit too much to the left. The pen into the front is interesting as the hit log says it was only AP, I wouldn't mind looking through the replay in person to check where that hit landed. The fact that the Chrysler was able to sit in front of an AC 48, a T28 HTC and the T-43 and weather that many hits is pretty concerning (he was penned by a T29 in the left side at one point too).

Those premiums back in the day are still worse than standard tanks, which are now worse than the new premiums being made. There's awful power creep going on. yeah, I hope they don't ruin that game as well. As for battleships being overpowered, I don't get what everyone is complaining about. Anything that can shoot HE and set fires will annoy the hell out of any BB, any you can still stealth-fire - just sit behind a small island or inside smoke. Just don't complain when you're still getting citadeled if you're not moving (some people, even at tier 10, still don't seem to understand the difference between being invisible and being invincible...) That said, most of the premium ships in WoWs aren't exactly on the weak side either. I have two, the Warspite and the Mutsu, but the Mutsu at least has terrible armor to make up for her stupid amounts of firepower at Tier 6 (which earned me a couple of reports already). I wouldn't say that the Warspite is overpowered but it's certainly strong and easy to get very good results with, just like in most of the German BBs.

You're missing the point though, Foch was working with War Gaming and was bad mouthing the company he was a part of. Foch also was talking about a tank that hadn't been released, so War Gaming does technically have the rights to do what they did since Foch was given early access to content that us casual plebs don't have. Did they go too far by threatening to take down all his videos, sure, I won't deny that, but as Foch was working with War Gaming, and in doing so, being part of the company, WG could actually get away with it. I think Foch did the right thing to take down his video but I wholeheartedly agree with what Foch had to say (after finding the re-upload on facebook) This whole thing is a mess, I don't particularly like what WG is doing with their new releases of tanks, but Foch did go a bit overboard on his video at the same time. WoT as so much potential that if WG listens to what the community wants then maybe it would be a much much better game then what it is so far, and I thought that maybe with the 9.18 update that they were starting to listen but I don't know anymore.

This is the reason I don't play "free"-to-play games anymore. The developers always get greedy, almost forcing you to pay in order to have an advantage, and if you don't pay, you're at a constant disadvantage. This is the reason I play "complete" games on consoles, you know, games that cost money. Then, the developers are rarely that greedy. I think the removal of frontal weakspots highlights another problem. The very bad design of a lot of maps, especially ones like Stalingrad, Kharkov and Himmelsdorf, (there are more) don't allow medium and light tanks to flank the enemy, because the maps layouts are made up of corridors, so the meds and lights have to face these op tanks frontally, but since they don't have any weakspots on the front they can kill everything without taking any damage in return. However when they are being flanked, they will most likely die, because they can't turn that fast. So what I think needs to be done, is reworking or removing the corridor maps and make them more "open".

When a company thinks that this is okay or the atmosphere within the company allows for these kinds of calls to be even considered, you have a huge problem. Sorry but way more people are angry at WG and supporting Foch because he just stood up to what everyone has been complaining at and the vast majority of players are fucking done with WG terrible handling of the game. Seriously, there are indie devs who take better care of their game than WG does. TheValkyros I totally understand. KV-5s are one the the only tanks I can omnomnom with the SP, and doesn't even need gold to do it. But premiums have little point if you're just spamming gold. Especially ones with low alpha guns. The costs add up quickly.

It's funny how Wargaming has dug themselves a hole in how they advertised the tank in the "ready for anything" trailer they released for this tank. On one way, it's shown as wrecking every tank it faces, including going up against an E100, and as it's premium and you have to pay for it, it's pretty much cearly marketed as Pay 2 Win. On the other hand, if they do nerf the tank into reasonable levels, the trailer becomes invalidated and people can claim false advertisement unless they take the trailer down. Either way, Wargaming loses something now, and that was a pretty cool but wasted trailer. :(

it does have a frontal weakspot... the bits of hull behind the drive wheels if its on a slight incline as you look into it. if you shoot the drive wheel from the front it acts like a jag tiger 88 does and you can penetrate the bottom of the Tpart of the hull that extends out over the tracks.

Premium ammo should have stayed as gold purchase only and this meta game would never have came about. Or just overpowered ammo to switch to in general should have never been introduced. Warships stays drama free because there are no premium ammo's. Premium ships are good, but not ships that ruin the game. The only ships that truely cause problems in the game are seasonal reward ships. And.. honestly, those people can wreck your face in any ship, so it doesn't really matter if they get something a bit more cheeky than others. Continually you can see warships doing more and more right every update vs tanks getting more and more money driven and stupidity driven.

the thing is, from what I hear, War Thunder did it to many CC's and not just one, and the Way Foch handle it was a little over the top so from a companies perspective, WG did the right thing. I've been involved with WTs KZbin community for 3 months now and am in regular communication with them (Admin for most of their servers) and when the Gijin incident occurred it was just PhlyDaily who was targeted and we all got behind him to protest. Jingles - the VK 45.02B 'weakspot' is still there, just it was made a bit tougher. It's 200mm now but there are still a couple of points where it is flat. The E5, Type 4, Type 5, Defender rant is spot on though. The Maus also lost it's viewport weak-point too making it even more of a buff

There is actually 2 frontal weak spots, but the HUGE issue with them is that you have to be below the tank, like if it were cresting a ridge, to even hit them, otherwise they are auto bounce zones. The Dutchinator I don't see how it can be abused, other than the smoke shells, which I'll definitely have fun using, till I get bored and everything goes back to normal again, Smoke launchers can't be reloaded either at cap zones, so no spamming there. Sure, you can blind enemy tanks with smoke shells, but you're kinda screwing over yourself and your teammates too if you use it in the wrong situation.

I'm sure there is other things than just penetration value come into play here, my STRV 103 has 308mm pen, yet will constantly bounce even off the side of tanks with only 100mm of armour, when I load GOLD ammo, I have 350mm pen yet bounce off most tier 10's and many tier 9's. These same tanks are penned by guns with a larger caliber (only by 20mm) but upto 100mm less pen. Also some tanks (Normally Russian tier 9 and 10's) seem to have "magic" abilities to make fully aimed shots miss even at point blank range.

I remember when every single match was still met with a feeling of 'wow guys, this is awesome!'. I think that kept up until around 8.1... maybe 8.7. Complainers were always there- back then it was about arty, or russian bias, or how this tree was better than that, etc. Now it's a mess that is becoming increasingly more and more a chore to play, half because of company decisions and half because of the community that demands and then derides said decisions. Not a good recipe for longevity. I say that, to say this: Foch said what a lot of players are/were thinking, but his delivery was the vocal equivalent of what you DO NOT do to make a point on an internet thread- he made it a personal ad hominem attack and any point he was trying to make was ignored from then on as the targets of the rage then went on the defensive. That said, their reaction to it was equally unnecessary and ridiculous. They could have ignored the transgression, be the bigger person as they certainly have the bigger bankroll, or they could have opened a dialog about what caused the anger, but instead they took the Gaijin route and censored his opinion altogether. That, I think, has disappointed more people than the premium tank, the power creep, or the game changes. The fact that they became what they promised to never be. To many of us who have been around for years, and have sank considerable amounts of real world money into this game, it's a disturbing sign... we fear that the next step is basically taking our money and running, shutting the server doors behind them. Hyperbole? Possibly... but slippery slopes start with one bad step. Curiously watching from the NA side (I also realize this was mostly a WG EU issue, but ripples in the community transcend server clusters).

To be fair, I don't think it will exclusively be Tier X upon release, only for testing. But I guess, that it'll probably be expanded to only tier 7-8 and above at best.

second common test went live recently. Its still for tier X only and path goes live on 30th may so it most likely stays that way
