You have no idea about animation. A second of this type animation costs a LOT of work not just behind a pc but sometimes even with real persons playing with green screens. And a whole team u need to put all that together. BUT i still think is managable to make and wouldnt be such a bad business because with all this covid situation everybody misses cinema and would be a bad ass comeback to go to the movies and see what has been a dream for all blizzard fans. A cinematic made into a movie for warcraft history. Sadly they have touch their name prestige with that fucked up movie called warcraft released in 2016 so its a risky move.

Considering they're totally fine with operating the overwatch cinematics at a complete loss, they could very much make a decent movie with their cinematic CGI for either game. They just have to make sure it's not so deeply set in the lore, that's what lost most people on the warcraft movie.

I never played WoW. As a Diablo player and Starcraft viewer, I wanted to see some more amazing Blizzard cinematics. I was not disappointed. I have little knowledge on the characters but the Orc warlord's arc in these cutscenes alone is great. - From being offered the easy path of demon's blood and rejecting it. Earning his respect in combat. - To leading the Horde and watching his son die (to the Lich King?). - To being a grizzled veteran who wants to end it all. Only for his love of his people to respark is willingness to endure the pain. Finding a sudo-son figure in the Troll. - Eventually leading his Horde against a usurper, allying with his old enemy and lifelong battlebuddy. - To falling in 1v1 combat and be granted a warrior's death like his son. Really great storytelling, just from teasers too. Not to mention the human king's dynasty being handed to his son, or the Lich King being present at the begining and end, showing a sense of scale, where he was the antagonist first and the (undead?) night elf beats him easily. Never seen the Warcraft movie but I heard they really missed the mark. I'd love to see at least one full length movie with the Orc's ark. Maybe do an MCU style franchise where we get to see all the factions/heroes and have the End Game moments.

They made a movie directed by David Bowie's son even, but I believe because they picked a in the middle of the story instead of an introduction story line, well, it all bombed because people didn't understand what the hell was going on there was no connection to anyone from the audience. Those of us that know it loved it and wanted more, but it bombed so bad we will be lucky if even in 25 years we get to see anything like it. I liked the movie, as a fan and as someone who had played since the beginning, but I knew people who loves fantasy never played the game saw the movie and walked away feeling lost and unconnected and as a writer and screenwriter I can tell you when I saw it I thought wow this is great but wait what about the others?? I watched it with a group who knew nothing of WoW and they had questions and we're lost. They should have started with a story a non player could understand and a player would love. But they figured with so many people you subscribed to the game all would see it and all would be fine but the box office is a different dungeon boss than the game boss. I'd like to have seen more movies but we'll...that's what happened.

To me, to see things like comedic relief in the MoP trailer sort of signaled the start of a change of pace, getting farther away from the “Warcraft” aspect of the game, retrospective from the current 10.2.5 patch of Dragonflight. I still love and play the game, but comparing the feel from the first 3 expansions to now, there is a difference. "Why do we fight? To protect family, to preserve our home, to bring harmony." Mists of Pandaria was such a missed opportunity to use the throughline of the Pandaren culture and values to do away with the pointless Horde vs Alliance narrative that creates so much hostility in the playerbase. Y'all love the same game, why you gotta hate so much. Yeah the franchise started as Orcs vs Humans, but in an MMO this faction split doesn't work, it splits the community and creates unnecessary toxicity.

Because back in vanilla, Orcs vs Humans was still a selling point of the story. And allies gradually becoming enemies again is a bitter truth of civilizations. That and rivalry in pvp was fun and thrilling back then. When you saw someone from the filthy, stinking Horde as an Alliance player, you knew they were the enemy. No subtlety about it, no wondering if someone was gonna turn on you. You see them coming from the opposite way on the road and it was ON. BfA was just a sad cash grab attempt at reigniting that long after it ran its course.
@aircraftcarrierwo-class3 жыл бұрын

@@aircraftcarrierwo-class Eh, it was a fun dynamic in the early days of WoW. The cinematics are fantastic. The lore is fantastic. The art direction is great. The world building is great. The stories are solid. It's too bad the game is an unending grindfest like all MMORPG'S.

Is it just me who is now realizing it is Sylvanas speaking in the opening to the first cinematic. all this shadowlands her voice stands out now

I've watched these cinematics multiple times, but when Sylvanas turns Banshee beast mode in BFA, I get goosebumps. She's a legit badass.

@@Zentiu yup, in Warcraft 3 and this she used to talk much softe. She has some softer voice lines in heroes of the storm and some rougher which u can likely find on KZbin if u don’t play for comparison

I SO miss the time when I could care about all of this... At some point during the WotLK era I just couldn't take the game seriously any more. I came for the gritty medieval fantasy world of Warcraft 3 which reflected the real world in so many ways, but it became thematically unrecognizable to me as all these crazy mounts, cosmetic pets, and a slow of incomprehensible plot twists and turns... I feel like they could've stuck to the storytelling that made the franchise great, but everything always HAD to get *more outlandish*. I miss the days of exploring a world that was worth caring about.

I stopped playing in after Wrath. Can someone explain to me, how and why cataclysm was come up to the theme? Like... I see orcs "harvesting" that dragon armor underneath the ground. Was there a purpose? Was there an order? And why did that dragon wait for his armor (LoL) to finish so he can erect? I don't get how from northrend, next part was a big dragon
@scrotom22782 жыл бұрын
It was a way to revamp the world map. that's the short version. The longer version is that that dragon, Deathwing, is one of the elemental dragons or whatever they're called , specifically the black dragons, which are the rock types or whatever. The thing about the black dragon's job is that, while all the other dragons were allowed to actually exist above the surface of the world and do actual dragon things, Deathwing was forced to be underground and keep the world from collapsing in on itself, i.e. being buried and suffocated under the crust of the planet. Since all of those wacky old gods also exist underground, Deathwing was an easy target for corruption. The reason why Deathwing is having armor grafted onto him was because, um... well metal dragons look cool and he amassed some doomsday cultists to do it for him even though he was also killing them because of the pain he was receiving. Deathwing also has children which were working towards getting him power, one of them, Onyxia, disguised herself as a Stormwind noble and is one of the reasons why a lot of bad happenings were happening there and how Deathwing got his followers. All in all, Deathwing felt powerful enough to make his move and made it, Cataclysm is connected to Wrath in the same type of ways that Wrath is connected to the Burning Crusade, and all the natural disasters caused by Deathwing made the world get remodeled and introduce two new races, goblins for Horde and Wargen(Werewolves) for Alliance. THE END
