This is a World of Warcraft beginner healer guide to help you learn the basics of healing with the addon: Healbot. This will take you from a new healer to any content you wish to heal such as mythic raiding or very high mythic plus keystone pushes. The video is broken to get to healing with healbot right out of the box! I have been healing with Healbot since Wrath of the Lich King (12 years) and its never let me down! Its never to late to get into healing and with the surge of players in Shadowlands players will need healers more than ever!

I used to use Healbot then went to Vuhdo but have just this second come back to Healbot. Opened up the options and said "AWWW hell naaa TO KZbin!!!"...your video came up first....thank you for showing me the basics again. Nice guide, personally for me I use vuhdo and clique, or the default frames, with something like enhanced raid frames for static indicators and clique for mouse over binding

I tried a similar set up a long time ago and it’s very effective but I just felt like HB combined a lot of those elements into one package and went right back to it haha. At 3:50 you have the option to set your 'Button' to left and i dont have that option on my Healbot. Did anything change? And what should i do instead of that now?

@@mradult1097 Hi Adult! That option has to be there. Its at the core of the entire function of Healbot (setting mouse buttons to spells). Are you certain you are under the "Spells" tab on the left?

I just made a comment but noted I saw this so I'll repost. I played Wrath through Panda and use HB. Just started up again and HB is all screwed up. It used to be players who were out of range were a dark green and players who were in range were a nice bright green. Now no matter the range everyone is the same color and people keep drying because I can't tell if they're in range or not. Is there a way to fix this??

I have a question; when using the buffs settings, I have it set to check for fort, spirit and fear ward (tanks only). That said, I have tanks that are druids and do not want spirit as it takes a buff slot. How do I enable checking my healing druids for spirit but blacklist my tanks?

Hi Abby, thank you for your patience, I have been out for a little while and just got back. Assuming you installed it on your C: Drive, then the path is: C: > Program files (or another version of program files if the wow folder is not in there, example: Program Files (x86) > World of Warcraft > _retail_ > Interface > AddOns This should be the folder for all of your addons. I hope this helps!

Hi Troy you may be better off making a quick macro for that then. Healbot is designed for mouse binds.

There is a setting in there somewhere to turn them on or off. Check the buffs/debuffs tab or similar wording for what version you have.

One question. I tried a BG with healbot and it was completely overwhelming. The worst aspect of this being able to quickly identify who is in/out of range. I see the "out of range opacity" slider but that is leaving me with 50 shades of green which is not really helpful in the heat middle of a chaotic BG.

Hi Josh! When teammates are in range (and have lost hp under 99%) their frame will light up. Dull green is full hp and/or out of range. HB does a good job of giving a “visual triage” of scaling colors to indicate levels of health. The system is handy because you know at all times at a quick glance who you can and can’t heal (and likewise who needs healing) by the bars being lit up or not. Did this help? If I didn’t answer or answered poorly please let me know and I will try to help better.

@@Dooma So in the drop down menu in Spells you have left for left click etc and then below that you have Button 4, Button 5 etc.

@@laxxboy20 OH got you! That’s for a mouse who has more than 4-5 buttons mapped to it. I have a 5 button mouse and still have several available spots. If you have a mouse with 1-2 side buttons those are usually button 4 and 5.

Thank you for the video but its not that easy, or at least not for me. Healbot came with pre-loaded left clicks and when i followed your instructions i couldn't get PW shield to work.

Hi David! It comes with suggested spells already in place. They can be deleted or changed. It’s just a template. From helping others, every single time PW:Shield didn’t work it was due to spelling/format. It has to match the spell tool tip exactly, including the colon after “power word” (usually the colon is the issue) If spelled and spaced correctly and of the colon is included, it will work on the click suggested. That same spelling/format issue translates to all healing classes so make sure to include any funky punctuation the tool tool has. I hope this helped! If this still doesn’t work for you, please let me help I don’t mind at all and would love to. Just take a screen shot and send it to me on our discord (in vid description) and we’ll get it sorted out.

I keep zero heals on Bind. All healbot with my damage abilities on Bind. Topw heal 99% of the time on Mystic Dungeon an Raid.

Hi Cris! If this is not your first addon then it will go in the normal addon folder. If this IS your first addon, then the folder should be in something similar to: C: > program files > worl of warcraft > _retail_ > interface > addons. Or you can use an addon manager like curse or minion if you don't want to do it manually.

Hi Leader! If you are talking about the blizzard frames, thats under raid settings, if you are talking about the healbot ui thats pretty close to its default appearance. I turn group frames off from blizzards UI because I use Healbot as my group/raid frames, we dont need them both. It saves on screen space and reaction time from only having to look in one place.

I had to type all the spells in manually. It shows up spells for some other class. Maybe a paladin because I remember seeing Flash Heal and I am playing Disc Priest.

@@KiRa-fy6uq HB just gives a generic set up to give examples per class. It should have been all priest abilities if you were on a priest. Flash Heal is a holy priest ability. Flash of light is the paladin spell. Manually putting in the abilities is expected, but the good news is, once you have done it once, you are done forever! Haha.
