Hi there! All the elements of the build are explained in the video. If you follow it exactly, it should be mostly the same. If you are struggling with recovery in live content, from helping players in the past with similar builds, that has been due to not standing in melee range allowing the Surge set to hit enemies for it’s magicka return. Normally when players begin doing that a little more, things got much better in that area. I hope this helps and thank you for watching!

Any complaints about pen? Everyone keep busting my stones that my pen is so low but didn't think that really mattered in trial with groups bringing pen buffs

Disdain is used here for the DoT status effects giving you solid damage from both sides (direct & dot). Leaning into mostly direct works well for the Warden, but I found this specific set up a much "easier" time to consistently hit high Arcs while solo.

Hi John! You are very welcome and thank you so much for watching! Those pen values are from the Trial Dummy. That's used used as a "standardized platform" in ESO to base builds off off. If you go to 3:34 timestamp, it shows the unbuffed char sheet and the pen there is only 1639. Don't get hung up on the pen though for a set up like this. The game has changed. It's not as necessary for most solo/4 man stuff as it used to be. If you just prefer more pen or feel you need it, you can always swap Sub Assault for Fissure and you should be more than fine. Just adjust the rotation around the longer duration. I hope this helps and thank you for watching!

Hi there! To answer your question specifically about enchants, food, and potions: It makes quite a lot of difference. -Without food you lose out on your main stat, which is a loss of damage. It's also a loss of sustain, which you may not need on a dummy, but you will most likely feel in live content at one point or another. -In ESO, combat is designed to gain critical buffs and sustain from your potions. It is normal in higher level combat (and parses) to use your potion on cooldown, without fail. Not refreshing your potion on cooldown, will be a gap in these buffs. Every build is different. Some builds require important dps buffs such as Major Brutality and Major Savagery, increasing your Weapon Damage and Critical Rating, and others just need the sustain buffs. There is also an important passive from the Alchemy skill line called "Medicinal Use." Once you are 3/3 there, your potions will be 100% uptime, when used on cool down, with a few globals of wiggle room. If you are using Velothi and a back bar (so no oakensoul, which typically will have any potion buff that may be needed), then I would imagine (if this is all new info for you here) you are missing a critical dps buff from your potion. You may have them passively on your bars coincidentally from other stuff you have going on, but generally speaking, being in tune with this and learning what you need and dont need for a proper build, will undoubtedly increase your dps across the board on all classes. -Proper dps enchants apply additional damage and then their associated status effects for additional damage. Not having them is just a loss of dps. Think of all of these things in ESO as cumulative. Will having just 1 or a couple thing scuffed hurt you badly, probably not. Will having many things scuffed hurt you, most likely. Everyone's interest and availability is different. Not everyone has the want or time to go top shelf across the board with everything and for 90% of players, it honestly wont hold them back much. But as you climb in eso and start to do more difficult things and are putting yourself in environments where other players success also depends on your ability to perform, it's a good idea to reach for the highest shelf you are able to. That is a good bit of info to get you in a direction I believe. I hope this helps some and thank you for watching!

Oh hi there again haha. I am working my way through the comments and I had just linked this build to you in a previous comments. You can use any heal here you like in the place of Orbs that isnt spammed. You want a heal over time or utility ability because you dont want to reduce your availability to spam Polar Wind when needed (what you are doing most of the time). I see you have commented on a few healing set ups now. I do recommend you focus on undaunted and get orbs unlocked, especially if you have an interest in PVE healing. Orbs are a staple on a very high % of healing set ups and any dungeon you run with it, your group will appreciate it. Something I was curious (just hit 50 tonight and getting the gear) i was wondering if dual daggers might be better than lightning staff for this build, so I was wondering what the reason was for going with the staff instead of daggers for crit rate? Im guessing because of the ancient knowledge passive right?

I recommend checking out the website for what is still current from older guides. Builds are typically kept up with there beyond the video guide as patches roll out. If it becomes obsolete, we typically remove it. There are lots of Templar 1 bar builds available there now, including a few pvp healers. Hi there! This has been a very popular 1 bar build since I put it out. You can check out the comments a bit for some player context if you like. There has been lots of players giving feedback saying they have great success in pve (dungeons) with it as well. It still is fantastic for PVP but it is kind of way HPS and health overkill for PVE. It's great to learn though. Once you get more comfortable, it will be a good idea to dial back some of the defense/hps for more group utility. Hi there! Sub Assault flowed better for the build and the pen is negligible in solo content in (most) cases. You can use Fissure if you prefer it or feel you need the pen. Just adjust the rotation around its longer duration and you are good to go.
