I didn't post this when I saw this video for the first time, but EVERYONE loves dragons and going back and seeing your reaction to the Cataclysm intro cinematic and being in awe by Deathwing landing on Stormwind and roaring at the end and then seeing your reaction to all of the dragons with Alexstrasza roaring at the end as well is always just like a "Yep, we love dragons too" kind of moment! :)

Congrats on 130k! Some context- the voice in the beginning was Alexstrasza The Life Binder but she is the matriarch of the Red Dragonflight, she is also the one that saves StoneBro (from what I've seen this is the stone dude's name now lol) while he is falling. So there is some...contention (i think thats the word) within the community, with the lore/storytelling mess that was shadowlands, the dragonflights all supposedly lost their powers at the end of Cataclysm, but then i guess they later got them back, i think it was depicted in a book not in-game. And the whole thing with cataclysm was stopping deathwing and the dragons at the end were all "our purpose is complete we gonna go chill now and fade away (cus they were all sterile after losing their powers) but now they are....back (not exactly complaining)? As for the Lich King part - they are just announcing that they are opening Wrath of the Lich King Classic servers - basically allowing players to play through WoW and that expansion all over again (some minor changes and updates not even enough to call it a remaster) there is no new story or anything new....its just a huge nostalgia trip for players i guess.

Gotta love the wishpers that haunt the lich king. Especially Jaina's voice since she was supposed to be intimate with Arthas. Still remember that mission when you retrive the locket from Artha's body and you bring it back to Jaina and she begins to cry knowing there was still some humanity left within the lich king.

Thank you for your reactions! They are always so genuine and wholesome, and you two display awesome chemistry on camera. A few notes from a player of WoW. The voiceover of the dragonflight cinematic is from Alexstrasza, queen of the red flight, and that is her saving Watcher Koranos (the stone dude, known by some in the fandom as Stony Tony). This has to be the most hopeful and uplifting cinematic in all of WoW, and the cinematic team did really well to display such emotion through facial expressions of a character that doesn't say a word. Regarding the Lich King cinematic, yes it's essentially a remaster, but also not really. WoW Classic is separate from the main game, and it is allowing players to experience what the game was like back 'in the day'. It is currently in the first expansion's timeline, and this trailer shows they're approaching the second. Something the main game did years ago.

Congrats on surpassing 130K subscribers! Well-earned. Thanks for the reaction. I'm looking forward to this expansion. Love the dragon aspects of wow. The Red one you saw is Alexstrasza, the leader and queen of the Red Dragon flight. The green dragon that you just caught a glimpse of in the video was likely Merithra of the Green Dragon Flight. She is Ysera daughter. Will be interesting to see what role Ysera takes in this expansion, since she is stuck in the3 Shadowlands.

Ysera is a character that came up in our journey that we didn’t get enough info on and will have to explore more. Her daughter is pretty 🤩 🐉😎
@domdom39382 жыл бұрын
As you've heard from everyone else, the narrator and the red dragon is Alexstrasza, the Dragon Queen. She's also the sister of Ysera, birthed from the same clutch of eggs long ago. You've seen Ysera before in Legion when she got corrupted and died, and then in Shadowlands where she was resurrected, but bound to the realm of death. As sisters, they were blessed by the Titans with similar powers. Alex (strasza being a suffix naming convention for female red dragons, strasz being the male form) became the Aspect of Life, while Ysera became the Aspect of Nature and protector of the Emerald Dream.

Classic WoW explanation: As Wow released more and more expansions over the years, the gameplay ended up changing enough that fans of the original feel of the game became unhappy. Since there was no official way to just go back and play the old content how it used to be, there were some fan servers filling the niche that offered that for people until Blizzard cracked down on them. Between talking to the owners of a particularly popular fan server and various fan petitions asking for the re-release of their favourite content to play officially, Blizzard eventually did start releasing old WoW in (mostly) its original form. Now the servers still have a dedicated enough fanbase that Blizzard is willing to change features in the re-release of Wrath of the Lich King to better suit the Classic playerbase (for example not including the 'looking for group/looking for dungeon' feature, which was extremely controversial when Wrath originally released. It was common to see 'WoW should only have had one expansion!' in forums around the time). The classic servers focus on having a more relaxed pace overall and a larger focus on communication with other players. The lack of automated group finders for example means that people advertise in cities for dungeon groups and other activities. The overall feel of the game is a bit more Dungeons and Dragons, less faster paced game like the modern version of WoW (In classic for example you must go on quests in order to unlock your class abilities while learning story that goes with it, whereas in modern WoW abilities automatically get assigned to you as you level up). This isn't for everyone of course, I myself love the old WoW feel but just don't have enough time to fully enjoy it anymore so I just play modern, which has its own charm and way of immersing you in story. Excuse the long comment, I've been writing essays for uni and am too used to keeping word counts up!

Blizzard decided, quite a fee years ago, to start another set of servers for the classic versions of the World of Warcraft so those players that didn't get the opportunity to play the original game could & it also catered to the nostalgic players who played the game when it first was released. This is the second time that they are expanding the classic servers by bringing back first the Burning Crusade expansion and now the Wrath of the Lich King.

That's because red dragons are protectors of all life on Azeroth so nice little detail there. And oh boy...Lich King...it's not even a remaster. Blizzard is just releasing the same old game again with some little changes here and there and makes tons of money out of peoples' nostalgia. Only Blizzard can be so bold as to release 1 game twice and still make a profit from it.

Skyrim. ;) Also, players had clamored for years, since at least Mists of Pandaria, to release Classic servers because they liked the feel of the old systems better than the direction the devs took things in the expansions. Welcome back to WoW! And congratulations to another 5k, you deserve every one. Definitely watch the history of dragonflights by platinum wow as mentioned by Apophis Rising here. Platinum wow does great story recaps. The WotLK is sort of what you said, but it is not a remaster. It is just a relaunch of the old content with some bits of changes here and there. People just wanted servers, where they could play other expansions at their peak, because the only way to do that was private servers until about 4 years ago when they released the base game again and then two years later they released the first expansion, TBC. Now there are servers for both and there will be servers for Wrath of the Lich King soon in the future. WotLK being one of the most popular expansions ever, WoW was at its highest when Wrath was running. Funny sidenote, people wanted this for a long time, but when asked on Blizzcon (the big convention for blizzard) if they plan to create servers for the old expansions, they quite literally replied that we "think we do, but don't" actually want these. Yeah, community showed them when rerelease of the base game brought insane influx of players and I am pretty sure WotLK will do the very same if not more.

There is a part of the Wrath of the Lich King Classic trailer that just gives me the chills, it's a voiceline of Jaina Proudmoore saying "I can't watch you do this Arthas" and having read the book "Arthas Rise of the Lich King" back when it came out in the 2010's you get to know that Arthas and Jaina were kinda the perfect couple who actually loved eachother, the reason that line gives me chills is because in the book you learn that while Arthas was a good person before becoming the lich king he was still a bit spoilt and the only request he ever made of Jaina was "Never deny me" he asked her to never say no to anything he wished from her which is a bit creepy but also feels like he genuinely was scared of being rejected, and during the culling of stratholme she says no to him which I feel in the end plays a bigger part into him feeling like he has nothing left to loose anymore.

This is actually a very new tone for Warcraft in Dragonflight. It seems this time not about preventing death and destruction, but the overall theme seems to be hopeful rebuilding. With all that has been going on at Act-Blizz, this shouldn't be that much of a surprise. But then, World of Warcraft, by now, lived a long life for an active online game. It needs something fresh instead of the old repetition. Maybe, just maybe this is the way. Anyway, while this is merely a trailer, it is actually good in transfering this hopeful tune in both image and music. That's good.

Six years ago (in game), Alexstrasza said that the Age of Dragons was over and that it was time for the Age of Mortals. So the most important thing you can take from this trailer is that she decided that maybe that was a mistake.

The dragon aspects channeled most of their power into the dragon soul that defeated Deathwing. They couldn't get the power back, because they had to return the dragon soul intact back to the time of the sundering (just like the infinity stones, the Avengers stole out of the past). We don't know if the Aspects can regain their power, now that the Dragon Isles are accessible again.

I have not played WoW since last July but I still watched the reveal event they did this past week. I WANT WoW to be fun again and not feel like I'm logging off my day job to play my night job. The cinematic looked nice but of course tells you very little except the title. The scripted panels they had afterwards did show some new game features that look interesting but it's a big wait and see for me. Once beta hits we'll see if they have learned their lessons about bowered power mechanics that go away as soon as the expansion is over. Stuff like that seems even more insane to me now after playing Final Fantasy 14 and seeing how stuff from past expansions stays relevant. What a concept!

Classic WoW is just WoW with the earliest, most PITA, time-burning stuff the original had. Want to build a fire to cook with? You better have flint, tinder, and wood in your bags. Hunter? Sucks to be you if you forgot to buy more ammo before taking on that big critter. You have to buy all your spells as you level up, with painfully-gained gold.

I'm extremely excited for Dragonflight. It's really nice to be returning to Azeroth. The Shadowlands felt so foreign and I got a sense of home sickness. I'm praying to all the gods above that it's better than Shadowlands and BFA ;~; Additionally, Classic WotLK is the first classic expansion to actually interest me. I joined the game in Cataclysm so I completely missed everything before it. That said, I'd go back to WotLK and I always regretted that I never got to do icecrown citadel, the climactic raid where you fight and kill Arthas, while it was live. Now I get a second chance :D PS: The thing companies do where they put a trailer in the trailer so that way they can show people their trailer as an ad before it gets skipped sucks. Talk about spoilers...

To me the problem with this expansion is twofold with the first problem being that the dragons are not really the guardians of Azeroth anymore they expended pretty much all their power in the defeat of Neltharion making them both mortal and hardly stronger than mortals and two after defeating the jailer(whom was essentially elevated to the bad behind everything) no bad could ever pose a threat again.
@laertesindeed2 жыл бұрын
@Redacted Except...... that is all your own head-canon; it is not what Metzen wrote for the dragon aspects in Cataclysm. Metzen never wrote that the dragons had no knowledge or no powers or no part in the lifeforms of Azeroth....quite the opposite. But just because Mike Tyson is not the best in the world or at the top of his skill and power.....doesn't mean he can't be scary effective and threatening. Metzen wrote the bronze dragons being able to do things with time magic that we mortals still can barely fathom during WoD. Metzen also wrote the blue dragons doing things with magic we mortals still can barely fathom during Legion. The terrible replacement writers wrote the green dragons doing things with magic we mortals still can barely fathom during BFA. Likewise, Metzen wrote Wrathion doing things with magic we mortals can barely fathom during MoP. Quite literally, every single one of these examples were things and adventures of dragons "AFTER" cataclysm where they gave up some innate titanic elemental power. Since they got their aspect status originally from titanic elemental powers....there is no reason why this expansion cannot involve them getting more of such power as Azeroth heals and stirs.

If you liked the Dragonflight video you should play the game ^^ in-game is even better + there is a ton of cut-scene videos to give extra context of whats going on. With the Lich King one, in WOW there is two different servers/Worlds, one is the Retail one which is the most up-to-date that be Dragonflight the other is the Classic which keeps a lot of Vanilla/Old school WOW features and the Lich King expansion was given to it in 2022 hence the reference the adventure continues ^_*

You're not far off calling it a remastered lichking. Wow Classic is like a version of wow where the focus is on the old expansions and the vanilla game feel.

I stopped playing before Shadowlands because the game, I personally felt, was going downhill. I'm still skeptical, Blizzard has always been great at making trailers. A good trailer does not make a good game. But I will return if Dragonflight turns out to be as good as the initial trailer and teases promises. A bit of story for our dragon friends. This will be a very brief summary of dragons history and its another wall of text. So much I wont be able to write down or explain. Tens of thousands of years ago, Dragons were a primordial force on Azeroth, before the Titans came to bring order and remove the taint of Old God corruption. They've always been powerful. When the Titans did arrive, they realized that without Dragons they would truly struggle to conquer Azeroth, so they selected five nascent dragons to become imbued with Titanic power. Alexstrasza the Lifebinder was empowered with a gift of Life, she brings life to the world and governs it, which makes the Red flight especially hostile to the Undead. She rules the Red Dragonflight. Ysera the Dreamer was empowered with a gift of Nature and a deep link to the Emerald Dream, a realm that functions as a blueprint of Azeroth as it would've been without intelligent life affecting it (or so it is claimed, we dont know what the Emerald Dream truly is and it was said to be an equal-opposite of the Shadowlands so... future will tell.) She rules the Green Dragonflight. Both of these dragons got their gifts from Eonar the Life-Binder, a Titan who has a similar goal and title as Alexstrasza. Nozdormu the Timeless One was empowered with the gift of Time by Aman'Thul, Highfather of the Titan pantheon. Nozdormus power allowed him to watch over time itself to ensure its safety and continuity. Eventually he would face threats from timetravelling dragons calling themselves the Infinite Dragonflight, lead by the insidious Muruzond, an evil future version of himself. He leads the Bronze Dragonflight. Malygos the Spell-Weaver was gifted the power of Magic by Norgannon, one of the first Titans players in WoW ever hear the name of as he is said to have created the dungeon of Uldaman, an early tier dungeon for players to explore. Malygos' purpose was to safeguard magic itself and ensure its proper use. Malygos eventually was driven insane by the loss of his entire Blue Dragonflight at the hands of Deathwing during The Sundering 10,000 years ago, and he went into exile. During Wrath of the Lich King, he tried to usurp all the worlds magic and had to be killed, so he is now succeeded by Kalecgos the Steward of Magic, which is who you see in the trailer. Neltharion the Earth Warder was gifted the power of the Earth by Khaz'goroth, creator of the Dwarves and the Giants, among other creatures. By some extension he also created humans in the form of the Vrykul's ancestors, Iron Vrykul, soldiers that fought against the Old Gods when the Titans fought in The Ordering some long, long ago (more than 20,000 years ago but no exact time is given.) Iron Vrykul eventually turned into Vrykul, which are 4 meter tall tribal viking warriors living in Northrend. When they began giving birth to tiny pink babies those babies were cast out. A Titan construct named Tyr took these tiny babies into exile and they became the first humans. Sorry, tangent. Neltharion's power over Earth was also his downfall as he became Deathwing the Destroyer. The Earth was corrupted by the Old Gods long ago, and they infected Neltharions mind turning him into their agent, Deathwing. He ruled the Black Dragonflight which is all but destroyed at this point, but Deathwings last son is alive. Wrathion the Black Prince "rules" whats left of the Black Dragonflight which is next to nothing, but he has tried very very hard to earn our trust for the past 5 expansions or so. As for the Watchers, they are stone constructs created by the Titans. When the Titans came to Azeroth, you must know they are masters of Order, one of the six fundamental forces in Warcraft cosmology (alongside Life, Death, Light, Void and Chaos). To Titans, everything else has to be controlled in an orderly manner, and the void infestation on Azeroth in the form of the Old Gods was unacceptable especially considering what slumbers within. All Titans are born from "World Souls", planets rich in both spirit energy and magical energy. Planets without one or the other often turns out lifeless or ridiculously chaotic (Like Draenor, but that's a looooong story). Azeroth is one such World Soul and more powerful than any that came before. If the Old Gods succeeded in infesting the World Soul before it was born, it would've meant Void controlled the most powerful Titan of all time. Unacceptable for the Titan Pantheon, so they went to war against the infection on Azeroth. This war was made possible because of the Titan Forges, massive constructions built in several locations on Azeroth's surface that could pump out endless amounts of Iron Soldiers of all sorts. When the war was won, the Titans set about reshaping Azeroth into a beautiful but structured world. All races would have their place and purpose, and they made plenty of Sentinels, Watchers and Guardians to keep the world safe and watch over the prisons where they had locked away the Old Gods. The Titans could not KILL the Old Gods because that would kill Azeroth as well, so they had to seal the old gods away into inescapable prisons instead. However, one of the Old Gods infected the living constructs the titans left behind with a curse. Called the Curse of Flesh, it would strip away the Titanic powers these constructs possessed and turn them mortal. In so doing the Old God thought the mortals would become weaker, but in fact it bound the titan constructions to Azeroth herself and empowered them greatly. From this Curse of Flesh came Dwarves, Gnomes, Humans, Vrykul, Troggs and many others. But many Titan constructs avoided the fate of the Curse of Flesh, such as the Watchers of the Dragon Isles. Additionally, dwarves have retaken one of the Titanic Forges, situated in Northrend, and are producing armies of iron sentinels again, while Pandaren control another on their island of Pandaria. So we're seeing Titan constructs living on Azeroth yet again among their descendant species. Unfortunately, not playable races yet :( We're hoping.

Thanks so much for all the info on this and the dragons and titan constructs. So the hope is that Titan Constructs will be playable this expansion 🙂
