hydraulixx I raided in TBC in a top Oceanic guild into Sunwell, Mythic raids are a lot better now and class mechanics are a lot better to, the game has improved a lot and if you actually raided now and in TBC you would see that.

hydraulixx The game was still fresh in TBC so the basic game mechanics were still fun. "You had to watch threat and mana" Threat and mana management weren't fun mechanics, it was stupid having to either auto attack or wand something because the boss has a threat wipe/drop or you chain some crits or because using spells back to back would make you oom. "Not every class had 2 oh-shit-buttons, 2 self-heals and mobility CDs. The game just felt more immersive." Most classes and specs had zero utility which made them really boring to play, planning CD use and movement is a lot more fun then standing in the one spot using one spell. "Yes, it was a 'slower' game but faster is not always better." WoD went back to the slower style of class mechanics and for most classes it made them a lot less fun.

Illidan wasn't a gearcheck. Tanks and heals must have good gearing. Dpses can be all blue ilvl 115 and low t5 epics and do the job. Illidan is the pure definition of a mechanic-oriented fight. Understand, acknowledge and respect mechanics and phases and you're good to go

alot of the TBC bosses were the most epic, Illidan Stormrage Archimonde Kael Thas Sunstrider Kil'Jaeden M'uru The only non bc raid bosses on this list are: Nefarian (Vanilla) The Lich King (WotLK) Deathwing isnt here as u dont even fight him, u walk around on his back and then pick his fingers off the ledge so he falls ans Thrall can fight him. He's probably in the worst boss fights in history category. Now, if he was like Onxyia, it wouldve been a different story.

This was when WoW was at its best, to me. Illidan, along with Kael'thas, was just so cool and rewarding working together on with group of 25 people to overcome before the game got so blah. I liked doing Karazhan in a 10 too, but when they made 25 man raids doable in 10s, added Hard/Normal mode switches, and added casual raids it all started going wrong for me.

Wrong, Karazhan was 10 man, rest of the raids were 25. Zul'Aman was added in a later patch as another 10 man raid, making that two.

TBC was a great expansion but raids mechanic were boring. The only challenge in raiding back then was forming a raid team.

@@patrev It WAS unique and in fact NOT boring for it's time. Many of the mechanics hadn't happened before. Karazhan was pretty unique. The horse and the way you fought it, Moroes with his changing band of guests plus his stealth, the opera event, Shade of Aran, chess (which wasn't usually much of a challenge, but definitely unique), Illhoof was interesting, but then Netherspite was pretty cool but rarely attempted. That's just from Kara. SSC and TK were even more diverse and unique, which Gruul and Magtheridon's lair were a nice quick fight if you were able to take them down, which still being a challenge for guilds that were new to them. It's important to make the distinction that unchallenging is not the same thing as boring. Most things lose their challenge after you do them a few times.

@@fahadallhaib Hi, I'm back, and yes it was. They opened SSC, TK, and BT up to anybody and stopped the attunement. That's when I was able to get in. And then they did something else after some more time that at least decreased the HP of a lot of stuff, including BT. That's when my guild went into Sunwell and Killed at least the first boss and got to M'uru. I don't remember if we killed it or not, but we did at least do attempts on Kil'jaeden.

And if you ever tanked Illidan you would see it was a factor. 90% of the time you tank in T6 would be dropping half his hp or more every attack. And it's why a healer was dedicated to spamming them. Also, if it weren't a factor, other classes would be tanking him other than warrior (pre nerf).

This was a real accomplishment for them.. Just look at how unoptimized people were specced and playing back then compared to now. And these guys were world first! Within two hours of release the entire BT/Hyjal was steamrolled in Classic. There's something real discouraging and depressing about that, lol.

There really shouldn't be. That's just evolution doing its thing before our eyes. Like clear as day. Even i recall back then people being arrogant and headstrong about their way being the right way. This just helps me further solidify my beliefs that there's always room for improvement. Growth in the game and in real life is never end. You can watch through a number of their videos and see. Like if you watch some of Kungeon's videos you can see all the names on his screen to see who's healing him. Search Kungen Nihilum followed by Gruul, Magtheridon's Lair, Void Reaver, and I don't remember what other videos they had. I know they had Brutallus, but that was a little after this one.

Seems like the locks werent attacking a lot. For a while I didnt think there were warlocks since I only saw Frostbolts and the occasional fireball

That's mainly due to how aggro and threat acted back then, locks were quite good at getting aggro fast.
