@Originz Fishing not really. He did technically kill tens of thousands in Stratholme, but lets be realistic, it was the correct call for a multitude of reasons. Strath NEEDED to be culled for everyones sake. After that he had his soul posessed by one of the most powerful weapons Azeroth has ever known. I wouldnt exactly say his actions were his own from that point on, since his will as literally not his own. Did he freely decide to pick up Frostmourne? Yes. Did he have any reason to assume it was a worse decision than leaving Mal'Ganis to continue to spread the plague? Hell no. Unfortunately he was put in a lose-lose situation, as a puppet for powers far beyond his reckoning. Arthas did nothing wrong.

It will still look better on a 1080p screen due to the additional pixels, basically because you are condensing an 8k image to 1080p you get a sharper picture on 1080p compared to a straight 1080 image

@@Naeinsengimnida I can't remember the term (maybe like down sampling?) But because your taking 8 pixels to make up 1 pixel for 1080p the overall picture is crisper. The reason big TVs (presume you mean the really old ones with the massive back end) looked crap compared to modern TVs is not due to this, rather it is simply because those old TVs could only display 480p so each pixel was stretched to fill up the screen (ppi or pixels per inch) so higher resolution means a higher ppi and therefore a sharper picture (so a 1080p resolution has over double the ppi of a 480p one) however the limit is determined by the display and source of picture, so your monitor can handle 1080p however if the picture was captured at 480 then the picture will still look crap since your display has to project it at that resolution. If the source was 8k then technically you would view it at 1080p but due to down sampling it still looks sharper then a native 1080.

The fact that something from 2008 can honestly be on par with 2019 cinematics/CGI by simply increasing quality truly shows that this trailer was well ahead of it's time. Watching it at 1080p was just orgasmic. You never really realize how blurry it was until you see all those crisp lines and go "Holy shit, this was from 2008?"

I put it down to people loving what they do to create it, same for what's said about the first LoTR trilogy and same for all kinds of visual effects from years gone by. You can have all the technology you want but if your heart isn't in, it be a struggle to be top quality even with the best direction and management you can get. I tell you man, I’ve played since vanilla. My brother came home from a friends and was like dude there’s this badass game called world of Warcraft, you level up and you can be a warrior or a mage, and when you die you go back to your body and keep leveling. I was so into RuneScape that I didn’t even care. After we finally got it, he tried for about another month to get me to play it. I gave and tried it. Within 5 minutes I was addicted lol. BC was amazing when it came out, but idk what it is but when I got this expansion, after I watched this intro video, I got so pumped and got chills and goosebumps. My goodness when he stood up and pulled Frostmourne out, the shing sound… for some reason I thought the Lich king was a badass good guy that would be an ally. Because I didnt know shit about Warcraft lore. I’m still playing in shadowlands and just got maxed out in PvP gear on my Druid, name is Druud on skywall but every so often I come back and just experience the nostalgia of this. I have yet to watch the Warcraft movie because I was kind of upset that they didn’t even include the lich king, or this type of cinematic, (really I just haven’t gotten around to watch it, still) anyway I’m too drunk for this

The sheer scale of power you felt from this trailer is so different from other trailers in the way it inspired new players like me. So glad I found private servers for wotlk I just cant afford to pay for life for this game when Ionly wanna play an hour or two and find out if I even can get sucked, but I tried retail and it just sucks. from just a newbish perspective starting and stopping at wotlk then years later jumping into retail a few months ago its just garbage leveling up. Theres no sense of improvement, i miss buying my spells and getting starting armor that actually felt like an improvement when I got to a new town, I miss having to walk everywhere manually early on so you just gotta get used to making it a real journey, and always having enough money just to get a couple new things, incentivizing me to do more to get stronger. mobs in the world felt deadly, you gotta look out and learn how to be efficient and only maybe take on more than one which made the simple combat in the beginning interesting. I jump into retail and because I was in a town at the right time an npc gave me a trinket worth 30 gold and im like level 7.. my wotlk *funserver* isn't even like that.. I just do a couple less quests between zones and make lesss money for doing less quests so now There's a chance I can actually reach endgame. So glad I haven't seen any random Arthas figures standing there for no reason anywhere it's blizzlike so I shouldnt worry but some can be just a little too pointless imo

I still remember the first time I saw this cinematic... in the school library, a friend had downloaded it onto a CD and named it "Warcraft IV Cinematic Teaser"... I was so disappointed and confused by the splash screen at the end... I know lots of people loved classic WOW and WOTLK is considered the golden age, but still... that day was the day Blizzard died for me I've probably watched this trailer hundreds of times now, and this is the best it's ever been.

So my only critique (And I want to be clear this is amazing) is when Arthus and sweeping his hand over the ice, the finer particles of the snow get a bit over-mirrored unintentionally by the algorithm. Basically I see what happened: The algorithm sees ice as reflective and normally that's true, but it's not THAT reflective, so it's showing the reflection, refracted, of each snowflake and that takes you out of the viewing experiance as it looks like ghosting but, in reality, it's the algorithm kind of overcompensating. Again, this is an EXTREME nit pick because every single other aspect is flawless.
