I'm amazed that you're so succesfull with 2 points pilots on nons-specialised planes. On my Yak 9U I've put my Tu1 pilot who has Marksman 2 and Aerodynamics expert. I regret nowadays the times when in Yak7 you could oneshot Zeros. Now it's more fun for the Japanese side but still a lot of fun.

Love the Yak 7 - Yak 9u which I do have specialized and the fourth piece of equipment I have on mine rewarded me with an additional 5% and 10% critical hit chance and my sight gave me 10% more chance to cause fire. I have had so much fun in this plane watching 1 hit knock 50% of another planes health off and usually leaving it crippled in someway but before they can even use a consumable fairly often I get another good 2nd hit and Boooooom they go down in a great ball of fire.... ahhhh so much fun in the yak 9u when that gun hits the sweet spot and especially critically hits and to top it all off you can hit from over 1000m's away its just a true shock and awe engagement with the enemy plane as for example when I have not been flying it but been on the receiving end of being hit by one and suddenly there are huge holes in one of my wings which is now critically damaged and as I go WTF was that and realise I've been sniped by a Yak before I can say much else I get hit again and its all over as I watch either my wing get blown off or my tail disappear from my plane while I crash and burn in variety of separate flaming parts to the ground. It does take a bit of grinding to get them specialized but it is definitely worth the effort for the OP kill potential this plane can dish out. Never gone beyond the yak9u. Researched SU but never purchased. All in all loved the video and totally agree you can have so much fun in the tier 5-7 yak series of Russian multi roles even if they are not your typical multi role as rly they just do one thing snipe you with a huge gun from afar.

My favorite plane that I have at this point is another derpy plane, the Ki-93. I had the Yak-7 before that one, and was able to sync with the cannon fairly easily.

Fun fact: those cannons were designed to take out tanks in the WW2 eastern front, so yeah, planes don't really have a chance. Getting sniped by the 7 or 9 is so annoying.

Well getting sniped by any plane like this is annoying the Yak-7 thru Yak-9U just happens to be the most common. I've been sniped by an I-215 and it's even less fun lol

It’s sooooooo satisfying deleting a full health (or near full health) plane with a single shot. Also, not fun being in full or near full health and being deleted.

As far as multi-rolling is concerned I'm trying to snipe off any AA guns to clear the way for my allies and then I just pretend I'm a fighter. Not very rewarding exp and credits wise, but does help friendly bombers and ground attackers, so contributes to the victory.

It seems the hub 45 is nothing like the hub 37 on the XFL-1 Airabonita, or like the P-38J's 37 for that matter. At least with that 37, I can connect much of the time. I'm not so sure about this sniper cannon, which is why I've been hesitant to grind this line. That said, I do prefer the Me P.1099's longer-ranged 30s, even if I can only connect with enemy planes about half the time. Having seen your latest videos, I too have started using split gun group controls as well. That change has made my Me 410 and P.1056 experience even better, I think, and made my MiG-9 grind all the more enjoyable.

if you are using split gun groups ... then here is the trick Get close. Close enough to use your machine gun. When you spray and pray with the machingun; as soon as you start to consistently register hits, then you are also aimed in the correct direction and range to connect with the big cannon. then it s 1 or 2 stots and they dead. Do this for a while and eventually you will get a feel for how the big cannon behaves (ballistically speaking) Now you can go for those longer rang shots and expect the cannon to troll the target more often than it trolls you.

Yak7 it is a pretty good cannon easy to aim. Yak 9 don't. I am still working towards yak 9 u it looks a little better in your hands.

Yak-7 will sink a battleship if you fire all the rockets and get few cannon hits on it. So cool to watch the ship explode and break in half.
