Thank you again for correcting that “Vittorio Veneto” class… it’s Littorio. Massive history nerd pet peeve of mine. Same thing with Gneisenau being listed as Gneis class, a lot of the Japanese DD’s are Fubuki class I believe. The Narvik class German DD being armed with 128’s is another one. Tulsa being. 3x2 and not a 3x3 like it was supposed to. Helena being a Helena class instead of brooklyn(although that is arguably a sub-class). I know it’s a game but the real ships having inaccuracies gets me.

After playing this ship for I while, I have to say I find it to be a better Lepanto. It is more capable of dealing with being up-tiered to t10 than the Lepanto, and the bigger guns with Roma treatment on with RR and PA, and the scout plane for spotting, means you can do well at range even against some of the big guns. And unlike the Roma, having SAP means you can deal better with rushing DDs. You do need to be more careful when capping as you don’t have the fuel smoke. That’s not to say the Lepanto isn’t capable, it is (and in some ways I preferred the Lepanto over the CC), but it does struggle a bit vs t10 BBs in a way that the Marco Polo can handle better.

Looks like a fun ship. The dispersion part is sad tho if I may say, but the PA and then the fact that it also has the RR makes up for the accuracy and the long reload. I was too optimistic about getting the Marco Polo through the event since I joined the fun rather late it seems and overall my luck just never favors me during these events. But mayhap one day since I am saving up my silver to buy more modules for my Essex that I just got yesterday. Btw I saw Hyuga's stats and the armor looks pretty terrible (as is custom with most Japanese battleships). An Ise Class battleship, which is an Ise, with no dive bomber floatplanes.

Roma is classified in real life as Littorio class that much is true but some can argue about Roma having her own subclass since she and her uncompleted sister (Impero) had several improvements over the first two members of the class (Littorio and Vittorio Veneto) but unfortunately I haven't find much information about what exactly were those improvements but it kinda has sense for them to incorporate some improvements since they came a couple of years later than the original Littorio design.

Yep, that's something a lot of navies did, "class" was more of a general term. Ask the British. I actually got a bit curious about Italian designs. They seem to be looked down on a fair bit, but that may well be winner's bias. I'll see what I can dig up, maybe make a video about them at some point.

Terry, given the current meta of the game, would you give FDG the Secondary or citadel elite bonus?

After the last changes, I actually spent the gold to switch to secondary. I used to have the armour bonus, but it's hard to tell what the actual impact is, whereas better secondaries for me are a must. This depends on your style, though. For someone who plays more careful (i.e. at range for the first half, and brawl late game), armour might be the better choice. I play aggressive, and often do breakthrough charges that might cost me the ship, but wreak enough havoc to secure the win.

I got my torpedo damage reduction to 39.93 percent with historical camo, torpedo damage reduction module, and the elite bonus.

I usually bet on being able to dodge, especially on Italian things - DDs tend to be careful with rushing them at times, given the amount of pain they can inflict. But yeah, you can almost half the damage, and it does help against airdropped torps, too

I'm not a great carrier player, but from my limited knowledge, I'd suggest going the US carrier line. More focus on dive bombers, which are targeting automatically, and fewer air wings to manage. Get to tier 6, see if you like the gameplay, and explore other classes if it gets too difficult.

That's the curse of T9 matchmaking. The progression between 9 and 10 in terms of gun calibre, especially for BBs, is quite nasty. T8 is sort of the sweet spot, but in T9, it'll depend. Lepanto works, since she has the fuel smoke, to get her in or out of hairy situations.

In my opinion the reason why people like when you review a premium ship is because they are just too expensive to buy and even if you can get one in a crate that's still like a 0.001 percent drop chance although I think some have better than that but I'm not sure

Every now and then I will be thrown against ships 2 tiers higher, but only when Im in a team match

The technical term for this is "fail division" - don't team up across tiers 😉

@@FunandGameswithTerry not always. If you have a T7 cv and two T8 bbs you force the mm to give you a T7/T8 Match because cvs only get matches against the same tier.

True for all Italian BBs - if you're in a destroyer, never ever broadside one of those. SAP can't overpen. And Lepanto might have a smaller calibre, but she's got 12 of them...

@@FunandGameswithTerry I encounter Italian BBs all the time in Ostergotland, when its Columbio, I absolutely cannot get detected no matter what, which I can stealth torp for the long range, but they are Swedish, gonna need several full salvos.

I spent 64000 gold on getting this ship. I would say it’s worth it. It’s one of the Tier-9 ship that will not embarrass itself when it’s thrown into a Tier-10 battle.

suuuuuuuuper mega ultra completely totally not worth it - 200 to 300 dollars?!?!?! for 1 ship? uhhhhhh.....no.... even 100 dollars is too much.... i dont know the statistics but i imagine aloooooooot more people would buy this ship if it was more reasonable priced rather than the few willing to shell out 200-300 for a single ship...thereby increasing profits significantly....but whatevs i dont work at wargaming
