She's my kind of light cruiser - insane damage output, no armour. Not forgiving to making mistakes, one wrong position and you're out 2 minutes in. But I prefer that to sitting there and taking hit after hit, without being able to give back in kind.

150mm maybe, but 203s tear right through. At least BB shells you can dodge, but things like DM are tough opponents - DM's armour holds up very well against Mino's 150s, a DM player worth their salt isn't easy to torp, and the buggers have radar now, too.

I play this ship as my go to ship when I can’t seem to win with others. I lost with Indomitable (rarely happens), Gearing (died like a fly on windshield) and Zao (died at 15k). On Minotaur 115K win. The ship can dish out almost as much damage as Zao. I love that it is wacky maneuverable and with smoke. You can move to an advanced position and torpedo ships in both directions. You could use your smoke to stay in a forward position for a while. I have Beatty maxed as CDR and the legendary upgrade. This is I think my favorite ship.

It's a great one. I love high-risk, high-reward ships like this. You'd enjoy the Pan-Asian light cruisers as well.

Wow! I’ll never have the time to play enough to accumulate that much free XP, even when I convert ship XP, it takes 10,000 gold to convert 250k XP. Anyway, love your videos, I’ve learned so much, and really appreciate the effort you put into research! Thanks!

I don't usually use free XP to tier up, so it has a tendency to accumulate. I generally have the privilege of being able to try things out in my press account, but I felt like using my personal one for this, given how much I like my Mino.

Hmm, Beatty isn't a perfect fit for me. I like battlefield support and AA expert, which would mean missing out on two legendary skills. And she really doesn't need any more torp detection, now that she's got hydro. The sixth sense would be nice, tho. Maybe I'll try it one day.

Hi Terry, which do you think is better for british cruiser between minoatur or goliath?? because I will open the line on the British cruiser. for the minoatur, it's a bit lacking in AP protection and bullet damage, but for the Goliath the reload time is a bit long and the torpedo is only a little. Which one do you think is better unlocked?? Btw i like your video

I would personally go the light cruiser line. Mino doesn't need armour, she's got destroyer manoeuvrability, smokes, a ridiculous fire rate, good AA and more torpedoes than a Shima. Technically she was a real ship not with her name but with her design, and I believe in real life the last class of Conventional British light CA’s the Tiger-class is what she was based off of? She looks almost identical to the tigers, even though the tigers only had three turrets to Minotaurs five, but they still shared the same hull and superstructure. So basically she’s a Tiger with two extra turrets.

The British had a talent for the single most confusing naming schemes. AFAIR the actually built, original Minotaur class were improved Crown Colonies. HMS Tiger was a Minotaur-class, partially constructed during the war. Then the British saw the Worcester, and wanted one, so they made two designs for larger cruisers with dual-purpose mains, Neptune and Minotaur. Those were never built, they ran out of war and, more importantly, money. But they eventually finished the remaining Minotaur class ships quite a while post-war, and named them Tiger class, which technically makes them the successor of the never-built Neptune and Minotaur classes, even though that's an earlier design. I need a drink.

Minotaur was my first tier 10. I love it and love it even more since I got the legendary module. I have Beatty at level 11 on it. Smoke screens are amazing. Thanks for the video!

Same here, first tier 10. I've got Beatty on the Hood atm, I like battlefield support in level 2 and aa defence except in 4 for the Mino, which doesn't quite fit him. The improved smoke would be good, and there 6th sense is quite useful for Mino, so not a terrible choice - mainly I've already got the captain up to 11, and Beatty is at 6 or so atm.

Terry, It would seem like 5000 gold is less valuable than 250k free XP, The gold would cost less than $20, and 280k free XP is $100

Purely economically, yes. The free XP just accumulates from gameplay, though - gold I mostly have to pay for. So with free XP, it feels more that I've "earned" it.

I'm glad I've nearly unlocked the Neptune, and why do all WOWSB creators only use the ship prefix (HMS) with royal navy ships and not (USS for example) when reviewing US ships and other country's ships

@@FunandGameswithTerry I think it's because being 'royal' and HMS meaning 'her majesty's ship' and all, makes people subconsciously more serious and professional because of the prestige of the UK, and then all other countries just feel belittled because their ships are not worthy enough to have their ship's prefixes respected because they don't have serious, hereditary (useless in my opinion) royals and so don't have the same prestigious, serious nature.

The downside is a disaster too sometimes. And also, spent that amount of fxp compared with spending gold one.. which one is better? Actually spend gold is the best choice. Try convert 5000 gold to fxp and look at the comparation.

The difference is, gold I have to (mostly) pay real-world money for. Free XP accumulate by playing. That way, I feel like I've "earned" my legendary module. But that's just me - you're certainly right in purely economical terms.

100k of fxp is not a small number. Yeah cant mind too much if you plan to play this game much longer than avg player. Because it can replace in few week if you considering to play it all the days. Tbh, it's all up to individual mindset. Also, spending money in this game is the way to feed the developer 😀

I do have a regular budget, and a tendency to hoard premiums I find interesting. I'm absolutely on board with spending money, provided one can afford it, but I'm also aware that some can't, so I tend to present things in a way a player might approach them who can't or won't spend gold. You'll also see most premium reviews in my press account without the historical camo, for the same reason.

Why would you load the dispersion mod on Minotaur? Mino spews out so much shells into the air, that is it really needed?

Given the relatively slow shells, it's actually rather difficult to hit smaller targets at range, something the dispersion mod helps with. Also, there isn't really much else you could put in slot 1 - the turrets rotate really quickly to begin with.
