At first I didn't like this ship, but after 30 or so battles to get used to the ship, the citadels this ship gets are monstrous. This ship will kick the hell out of anyone giving you a broadside.

I did have an amazing game in my New Orleans one time. Three destroyers rushing our carrier. The rest of the team had rushed forward to cap and let the DDs go by. I spent the whole battle protecting the carrier from the DDs. Sank all three of them.

Skip t9 -> safe nervs

Stay in the backline, snipe from range. Try doing a T8-9-9 division. Try not to get to close to the fight. I love mine.

Iowa is a good t9.. team up with t8 cv yes, but skip izumo.. it sucks hard

Jageroo Sniping at range with either ship is not the best idea.... good positioning so that you can hit hard on your enemies. But I had repeated headaches on Iowa so I stopped there and played Minecraft. Just play minecraft if you have one :)

It depends on what you like, gunboats or torpedo boats. I personally prefer the gunboats

If you want to have a fun grind,take the gunboats

IJN DD are mostly torpedo boats except (akizuki to Harugumo) so play style remains standard for most

I think you’re better off with German destroyers, as they are gunboats but still have reliable torpedoes. IJN gunboats dont have reliable torpedoes

This thing just sucks to be honest, why? 1: If you want powerful guns go to Italian cruisers 2: If you want torpedoes go to the Japanese 3: Armor? Germans will be your best friend 4: Go for the soviets if you like sniping. Just make sure you’re an expert marksman :) 5: If you want to be potato and useless go to the French. Edit: French aren’t useless, sorry, just be careful with your positioning, but many people dont choose them, but they’re still good ships. But if you want torpedoes and powerful guns italians are still best for you, because they still have good armor

The New Orleans isn't quite as tanky as the higher-tier cruisers, so you do have to stay at range a bit more. Just like with the Pensacola, you need to angle / go bow-in, and watch your angles - BBs can do lots of damage to her. But the guns are good, and the playstyle is very similar to the rest of the tech tree, so you don't have huge switches going forward.

New orleans was a very enjoyable grind.. unlike many others... wichita is such a pocket bb i bought camo for her and keep her.. super strong New commander for des moins.. well now grinding baltimore.. hate t9 .. Use ap for everything only against dd under 5km HE or if you somehow only get semi‘s / bounce on bb... but shouldnt be the case.. close hit bow/aft.. I only use 3 rapid reload - master reloader and APCS

I'm assuming the New Orleans is basically just a tier 7 Pensacola. I bought a New O about 3 months ago, within just a few days of deciding to start focusing primarily on Battleships. I haven't fully upgraded it, because I realized I'd need the purple blueprints for the tier 7-8 battleships I knew I was going to grind. I'd bought permanent camo for Pensacola, but rarely play it now. Anyway, can you do a review on the French tier 9 tech tree battleship Alsace? Thats one ship that's been completely neglected from a review/tutorial standpoint! Thanks.

New Orleans is the first to have a forward-biased gun layout, rather than Pensacola's 50/50 setup, which means that bow-in, she brings one more barrel to bear. Armour-wise, she's still pretty squishy, but most t7 cruisers are. I'm at the Normandie on the French BB line, but I'm definitely motivated to explore the rest. Richelieu is quickly becoming one of my favourite brawler BBs in the game.

Terry, just aim the AP at the deck or the superstructure of BBs. The AP has very good penetration capability. I use the AP against DDs too unless they come very close to me

Terry do you know if the shipyard will be reset in the upcoming update? As far as I know it has been reset only once after it was added, is that true?

The last shipyard update came six months after it was added so I think we can expect another update in November or December

I got the New Orleans the other day, I like it, but I think that Zara is a better tier 7 heavy cruiser... Then and again, the italian cruiser are so OP that they are better at almost every tier lol Also, do you think WoWs Blitz needs a graphics and/or audio update? I think the gun sounds could use a rework

Wows blitz needs its map significantly larger as large as pc (and its islands too) because proper positioning is near to impossible in this game. I tried, but it always failed

Thanks for the video. I started to grind the US cruisers line but just it’s so boring. I bought the Atlanta an it’s awesome, most the time... plus it has torpedos lol. New Orleans Just seems like a stepping stone ship to better ships. And not something you would keep for missions or fun. But as always you make it look awesome an fun. Keep up the great work. You deserve a bottle or two lol
