13:55 Elbing torps are area denial torpedoes. You won't score hits, but you can use them to section off areas and force the enemy in showing broadside to your team by them trying to dodge(which is pretty easy). You don't score hits often, but it forces the enemy ships to do things so your guns or your team can deal damage more effectively. If they do hit, they are unlike European torps or the base line German DD torps because they actually do damage(2k more than Z-52, 6k more than Halland). You also have 10 of them(thats 2 more than Z-52), and unlike say a Kleber, you can launch all 10 of them at any given time without having to turn 180 degrees to get the other side off.

But how often did US soldiers even try to use captured enemy ammunition anyways? And if you capture a stash of enemy mortar ammo, you probably also captured a few mortars to go with it. The whole thing doesn't really make sense. Also, it might in theory work with 81mm and 82mm mortars, but it certainly wouldn't work with 127mm and 130mm artillery shells.

In General the ussr was worried that their huge ammo Stocks, for instance in the GDR, Poland or the Baltic States, could fall into enemy hands. Thats another Reason.

I'd add that the Soviet (now Russian) heavy guns are 152mm (6in) while the US and thus NATO caliber is 155mm (6.1in) Their heavy mortars are 120mm just as the western counterparts.

The very first time I took out the US BB Texas, my very first salvo was at a full health Aoba at almost max range running for cover behind an island. The rounds were able to drop in over the island's ridge and it was instant deletion. The replay showed the suddenly appearing wreck skidding to a quick halt. This Vermont salvo in this video is about a million times more delicious than that. Possibly the most satisfying salvo/deletion I have ever seen. Bravo Zulu.

The term, Jingles, you are looking for is Spähkreuzer. A part of the Project Z program, the “O-Class” was a ship that would be a cruiser with the speed and armor of a destroyer. They were considered “oversized destroyers” and “miniature cruisers” to put perspective on them.
