World of Warships - Quick Cut: Tier VIII Russian Cruiser Chapayev (Ranked Gameplay)

Tier VIII Russian cruiser Chapayev is a very capable ship, but she's quite fragile. Her 12km radar can be pretty impactful in a ranked setting, assuming you can keep her on the board. This game on Islands of Ice turns out to be an Arms Race game, and my team shows up to play (a pleasant anomaly for ranked).

Appreciate the review. Chapayev is another boat I sold long ago, figuring I had Tier VIII covered with Kutuzov. Bought it back recently because I wanted another radar ship at the Tier, and its overall win rate on NA seemed to indicate that my earlier problems were more my fault than weaknesses of the ship. You can’t play it like a Baltimore, and with its range and accuracy you don’t have to.

I didn't like Chappie much on my way to Nevsky, but then I got Irian in a container and liked her. And then I learned that Irian is almost exactly the same but with radar and shitty torps. Chapayev has even better stealth. So yeah, once you learn her weaknesses, she's actually quite nice.
