Love your channel Jingles, but quick correction. The Musashi was part of Kurita's central force at Leyte. She was the focus of Halsey's initial attacks the first day of the battle, and was so heavily damaged that Kurita detached her to RTB during his initial retreat. He came across her a second time after he reversed course to continue his attack on Leyte, leaving a handful of escorts to aid her. They picked up her survivors and those from the Maya, who had boarded the battleship after their own ship was sunk.
@Ralph-yn3gr4 жыл бұрын

When she was found they found that she had in fact exploded underwater much like her sister did but Musashi is in far worse shape.
@Ralph-yn3gr4 жыл бұрын
@@ralphdougherty1844 That's not terribly surprising. The Navy torpedo bombers made the "mistake" of attacking her from both sides to make dodging more difficult, but the Yamato class was designed with massive counter-flooding systems as part of the torpedo defense system, so hits on one side ended up mitigating the flooding from hits on the other side. As a result, it took far more torpedoes to sink her than it should have since she was never in danger of capsizing, which probably resulted in way more structural damage. She broke in half amidships and I believe all of her turrets are intact, so the explosion was probably the ship's boilers giving up under the pressure as the ship went down, which was not uncommon. Combined with the structural damage of 19 Mark 13 hits with their 600 pounds of torpex and it's no surprise she broke in half.
@FolgoreCZ4 жыл бұрын
Jingles, what are you talking about in the history lesson about the battle of the Leyte Gulf? Musashi wasn't a part of the Southern Force, she was part of Kurita's Center Force. That was the force that slipped throug the San Bernardino straight and attacked the "Taffy" gorups of escort carriers. So if she had survided, it si unlikely she would have done much, like Yamato and the others did, but she certainly wouldn't be sunk down south by Oldendorf.

I think it needed to be at tIX so the weebs would still grind yamato instead of going "close enough"

I can't see how it's ironic that Musashi has best-in-game TDS. Yes, she was sunk by torpedoes. But it took *19 of them* (along with 17 bombs) to put her down.

9:57 to be fair to DDs with the amount of CVs, hydros and radars spotting them do you really blame them for not charging into caps?
@cinjonsmythe63184 жыл бұрын
As a dd main it's suicide now. You are left trying to torp dump caps until mid game anyways

@@cinjonsmythe6318 I agree, sitting in caps early in the round now is like sitting in smoke.

Actually Jingles, Musashi was part of the Center Force that was supposed to attack through the San Bernardino Strait.

Jingles they didn´t really nerf the AA based just on getting Yamato down to T9. They basically took the first outfit form of Yamato (when that one left her dock), slapped "Musashi" as a name on it and called it a day with a job considered done. So we basically get at T9 Yamato in her first seas going form named Musashi and at T10 we get Musashi with the updated AA suit called Yamato (she got those updates later).

@@Ch4pp13 honest can set in audio. I've had him on all the time. Only annoying part...he ID's ships wrong... When you sink one it's funny. But initial spotting...kinda important

Keep in mind not only does Yamato have the better Sigma rating over the Musashi, but also once you've earned the legendary tier 10 Yamato module you can equip it in addition to the standard slot 3 aiming module to end up with a max dispersion rating that is tighter than the Musashi can achieve no matter what you equip. So Musashi is a great ship due to the benefits of tier 9 MM but Yamato will end up with both better sigma and lower max dispersion once fully kitted out. I guess also worth mentioning the obvious that a secondary or even AA build actually makes sense on the Yamato and both work well, while no matter what you try the Musashi's AA suite and secondary setup is severely lacking in comparison to Yamato's. I own both ships and at first feared that having Yamato already would see my Musashi sitting unused most of the time as my latest port queen, but actually the 2 ships are different enough to both see much use and both provide their own fun and slightly differing battle experience. I'll admit there's almost nothing else that can bring as big a grin to my face as seeing that MM has blessed my Musashi with top tier against a bunch of tier 8 and even sometimes tier 7 ships too muahaha! Overmatch for daaaaaays!!
