World of Warships- Sovetskaya Rossiya First Impressions

Hey guys, some things I'd like to point out! 1) Yes the Rossiya has the same base reload as the Soyuz, BUT the whole point of this ship is that you can mount the range mod (something Soyuz can't do) and get the range out the 22km and for that you have to give up the 29sec reload. 2) The ship in and of itself isn't bad at all, but the fact that Soyuz exists and you could easily buy the premium camo for Soyuz instead of the Rossiya and be well under $80 puts a bit of a dampener on the Rossiya 3) Now if you are willing to spend the money, the ship is a pretty good credit farmer (not Missouri levels, but still pretty decent).

For a cash-only premium Russian BB trainer, I'll just stick with the Lenin. I already have a Russian AL commander for the voiceover (or even just Dasha). This ship is too expensive/too gimped for the price -- might as well stick to tech tree and push to Kremlin for the efficacy. I picked up Littorio because I didn't have Roma and so far, not disappointed (I just make sure to switch between HE and AP all the time) since her price was comparable to the regular Roma so a 10-point ITA commander was fine plus I hate the Kobayashi camo and it's not exactly cheap either.

@Amadeo komnenus It's a good ship, basically a premium Cleveland a half second longer reload but she gains elsewhere and if you are not into the Azur Lane thing the Cammo is not extreme (that's a thing some complain about) not me, out of all the ships on offer I think this is the best buy by far 👍👍

SWiFT 240 the game has a steady population, low tier is a mix of bot/players to help new players out, but from mid tier-high Tier, World of Warships has a healthy population

Yukikaze and Montpelier aren't exactly new, they came with last collab wave already. So, the "new" ships are just two, Littorio and S.Rossiya. Yukikaze and S. Rossiya are the only ones with meaningful differences though, as Montpelier is a Cleve with 0.5s more reload, 0.15 more sigma and 300 more hp and Litt, as you said, is straight up fancy dressed-up Roma. S.Rossiya's overall changes are: -only A hull hp -only A hull AA -gets B hull rudder -turret traverse changed to 4°/s (45s for 180°) -+0.1 more sigma (to 1.8) -dispersion changed to USN model So, you basically have an A hull Soyuz, with B hull rudder and FdG accuracy (or Lion accuracy). And let's be real, FdG isn't like insanely inaccurate and will at times get nice groupings, but consistency is not a thing and neither is it with Soyuz. So, paying T9 premium pricing for a worse Soyuz is a bit iffy, unless anyone ever thought they'd rather have FdG accuracy over Russian close to medium range accuracy. Are you going to review the Yukikaze too (aka Kagero with F3 torps)?

I have her, and saying she has “FDG dispersion” is underselling her. What makes FDG bad isn’t her poor dispersion, it’s her poor dispersion, poor sigma, and bad guns. Rossiya gets the railgun penetration and shell velocity of Soyuz with a better sigma and It retains it’s accuracy to long range, which Soyuz does not get. Think of her as an Iowa with less range but better shell velocity, pen, damage and marginally worse accuracy (cause no plotting room mod)

@@valkyriedown5465 FdG has USN/German/British dispersion, 1.8 sigma. Rossiya has the exact same dispersion model and the exact same sigma. And Rossiya only pens more if you use the 406s on FdG, where you get like 30 mm more pen, 420s pen just as much. Rossiya also barely surpasses FdG in dpm with the 420s, is behind FdG when one uses 406s. Iowa gets not just plotting room mod, but also 1.9 sigma, not 1.8.

Evangeline wish I could agree with you chief but just about everyone who maximizes FDG’s potential uses her 406’s, so yes while I theory her 420’s have better pen, it’s not a realistic comparison since they’re pretty inoptimal for anyone with a WR higher than 2. Also, I think if Rossiya had a 1.9 sigma she would be a bit busted since she has the best air drag coefficient at T9 and second best velocity. But overall playing her is very comfortable, especially when most of my games end in earning 1 million credits. I just don’t see why anyone would consider her “weak.”

So why should the higher pen on Soyuz that is on par with FdG's 420s be such a great deal when it is clear that most people consider the pen advantage not too important. Similarly, even if you think the ship would be busted with 1.9 sigma, the fact it has 1.8, same as FdG disproves your point from earlier about this ship being more accurate than FdG. It is not. Lastly, it's a T9 premium. Of course it makes credits if one gets at least something done.Ship is weak, because there's better T9 premiums and a better T9 tech tree version, as well as better ships for the thing Soyuz would be good for over Soyuz. Paying the full price of a T9 premium for this isn't exactly the best deal.

Evangeline I never said it was “more accurate” than FDG I just said it was an unfair comparison cause no mater how you compare them outside of niche situations Rossiya’s offensive potential is so much higher than FDG’s it’s not even funny. Also, yes all T9 premiums make more money, but that’s not reason *not* to buy the ship. I don’t think she’s worse than Soyuz, I think they both make equal trade offs to be equally as good. I’ve been using my dedicated Soyuz captain on her and been doing pretty much about the same, just with a cooler camo. I don’t entirely see a reason you if you wanted her you wouldn’t get her(except for maybe price).

I don't understand what they were thinking. 80$ for a ship that is a bad techline ? WHY?! They could have tweak her to be different from the techline. A hull soyuz but; -33knot speed -33second reload but 2.0 sigma A squishier version with better dispersion and speed but lower dpm. Or something different : A hull soyuz but; -secondary range is 8 km and have improved accuracy (like graf zeppelin) A squishier version that relies on secondaries . You know, something different, not this clone.

I bought the Ignis Purgatio WH40k ship because I wanted the captain and you can't buy him separately and boy this ship is worse than the real Amagi because +3s reload for +0.1 Sigma??? really? no more range, no better dispersion, nothing? just same ship 2 stats changed and some fancy camo? then why not sell the camo and leave that ship in the trash where it belongs. This game turned into a giant cash grab and most of the new ships absolutely suck. New russian heavy cruisers: Fine at least something different yet still overpowered, but these premium ships... Just shows how that company lost it's sense for innovation through greed.
