Funny thing about that 'small incremental' difference in concealment ... the Lightning can fit a concealment mod too over the Jervis. Lightning is a Great ship. In no _small_ part to its 5.5km conceal.

A mod that really cripples tier 7 DD's that get a lot if tier 8 and 9 matches since it means even stealthy tier 7 torp boats get out spotted by higher tier gun boats. But yeah Lightning and the Cossack really benefit from that mod since it gives them near best concealment with only the Japanese torp DD's with 5.4km max concealment as better and 100m is nothing.

There were two Polish „Lightnings” serving alongside Royal Navy at same time. Both Błyskawica and Piorun most direct translation into Enlish is „lightning”. Differecnce in meaning is that you can be hit by „piorun”, while błyskawica is strong flash of light emited by „piorun” and then you hear „grom”.

Interestingly, in the famous ww2 US submarine novel 'Run Silent, Run Deep', the narrator is, early on, preparing his elderly sub for war service when it is decided to give that boat to the Free Polish. The name the Poles give their new sub? You guessed it - Blyskawica. There are sequels to RSRD, good reads all. Worth noting the author, Edward L Beach, was a real-life sub commander, who fought in ww2 AND also commanded nuclear sub USS Triton on her historic round-the-world- whilst-submerged voyage.

I really like the Lightning. It might only have a small advantage over the Jervis on the base detection but Lightning gets access to the 5th equipment slot so it gets an extra 10% concealment... and 5.5 km concealment at T8 is just so strong

It's why I play a lot of tier 8 Japanese DD's since they get 5.4 concealment which is the best in game unless it's a double tier 8 carrier game getting close to enemies is pretty easy.

I enjoyed the Jervis and loved the Lightning. In fact, when I'm in a mood for Angry-Gun-Boating, at Tier 8 it's a hard choice between Cossack and Lightning because they are both great fun. On the Lightning, all 3 turrets being able to turn 360 degrees, and having really handy angles is a massive advantage. Love my Lightning.

The thing about AFKers is you don't have to sink them to hurt them, the opposite in fact. The repair cost at the end of the match is always the same regardless if you end with 100% or 0 health. But if you shoot the afkers, they get potential damage counts, which does give them contribution points and so credits

The Lightning (and other british DDs) do have one huge advantage in their maneuverability compared to most other ships. They have exceptional acceleration. From sitting still, the Lightning can actually make a very swift retreat when necessary. This is especially useful for dodging torpedoes in a cap. Just don't expect to outrun a french DD anytime soon.

Its swift (enough), agile af and the concealment is 2nd best in the game (not considering low tiers). While the Lightning has 1km more range on its Torpedos, it has two less - 2x4 instead of 2x5. In my opinion that is a significant drawback because with Jervis you could saturate areas (ship concentrations, smokescreens) with torps on single fire very well. With Lightning it is a little harder to get the spreads tight enough to be hard to dodge. Aside from that she is a dacent ship. :)

The prevalence of AFKers, especially in high tier matches, was one of the numerous reasons I stopped playing WoWs much. Would get regular stretches of them in every match. I imagine it's still the same frequency as a couple years ago.

It’s pretty specifically for the Smol, which has notoriously thin armor so that BBs can’t citadel, just overpens. It’s a huge part of what makes her so OP: anything with the range to match her overpens her nonexistent armor, anything that could really hurt her gets melted at range.

I wish I could be this good with RN destroyers. Try as I might (and this is true for the entire ship class) I just can't wrap my head around them. I've currently finished grinding Icarus and can purchase Jervis, but I want to hold out until I work out how to play the line.
