Admittedly I'm not a fan of how WG remove ships from sale, with exception of ones such as the Black Friday ones which are basically a special edition, unless it's removed for balance reasons but even then it's not as if they yank them out of people's harbours when this happens.

I could not agree more with this list. About a week ago I got the Illinois with RB, the Lauria with steel, Santa Containers provided me with the Karl and Jager and yesterday I popped for Defence with lots of coal and premium time. Very happy gamer over here! Merry Christmas to all!

Nice video as per usual. The Defence must really be something, as I have the King George V and I think the HE on it is great. Also think it's pretty accurate. \ I got a question for ya. You have the very same screen I do when playing, and I'm wondering how you get the spotter plane view. I've tried everything and can't seem to get that overhead view for seeeing ships behind mountains and such. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Years, Daniel

Merry Christmas, everyone! From what i know The Defense also has Des Moine AP pen angles on its 354s. It also gets underwater bow mounted torpedos with the british battlecruiser turning mechianic, they can be launched one at a time or a full salvo like Japanese light cruisers. To top it off, a low concleament of 10.1 km max spec. She is like a swiss armor knife that if you play it well you can become an absolute terror.

A bit late because of the holidays. I have to say, my best memory in the Illinois is the first day of the new missions for the dockyard coming and the glorious triple Illinois in asymmetric, everyone there to farm the main battery ribbons and comparing their stats. It made that mission a breeze at least.

I got Defense and its really funny. Even another perma camo is Christmas event custom with Christmas tree on deck of ship. Lovely. Illinois is gem, if Pommern doesn't work sometimes in Assymetric battles for me, I pick Illinois and it does reliable job. But even in ranked it was good, when you shoot DDs with that evil rate of fire and don't have problem fast switch to HE. Jager was another funny ship, getting 35 torps in Assymetric battles meant Swirski skill activated 4x. But I found I really annoying and dangerous DD in ranked. It can do alot of stress on enemy DDs, those torps don't kill by single hit, but they are many and comming like avalanche. (almost) I was desiring some T8 prem BB from Santa containers, but I got Karl IV Johan T9. I didn't think about it to be even as possible drop, but what a joy. Nice armored ship, hydro, but those torps, lol. R. Di Lauria is only one I don't have, but its in my narrow group of steel ships to get as coupon is ready. SAP it. xd Agreed with 4+ out of 5 picks. .

Currently debating by next coal ship (I have Salem and Napoli). Debating between Black, Moskva, or one of the German BBs. I’m trying to play BBs more after being more of a DD in random and cruisers in everything else type.

Illinois is amazing when you have those missions such as main battery gun hits, etc for BB’s. Jager is the same for DD missions with hits, flooding, etc.

Thrasher is by far the best for torp hits if class isn't a factor.

@@chiracultrainstinct3d629 no point boycotting them. They're here to stay. My view is to try to learn to enjoy them as they aren't going anywhere. Global nerf to sub speeds should solve a lot of the frustrations, especially with T10s. Personally I hate Balao most. Strong homing torps and too damned fast to depth charge accurately or catch up with in a DD. At least U4501 has low hp pool.

one downside for me on the lauria are his secondary sap (135mm of sap secondaries on 6 guns if i dont remember bad) that secondary will be good if the shoot in less of 5s and not the around 9s of reload they have but considering the armor of lauria well the kboom are great XD

i just got the montana and my god is she a blast, slapped the dispersion mod on and the guns just hit more then when it doesnt have them. I also have enough coal for a high tier ship, ive had my eyes set on either the iwami because 20km torps and big ass guns or the t10 german bb what guirfaust or something prolly butchered the name, i just dont know which one to get.

The Karl XIV is on my list of "worst ships." My dislike of the Karl XIV Johan is that while WG claims this it's a battleship, it's actually a heavy cruiser. The French Carnot is virtually the same without torpedoes and 2000 less HP, but is listed as a cruiser. You'll do well with it if you play it like a cruiser, but if you play it like a battleship, you're in for a lot of disappointment.

The strongest premium ships introduced this year are Scharnhorst '43, West Virginia '44, Jager, Gato and Ruggiero Lauria. About Karl XIV Johan, I strongly disagree with you. It feels like a complete lackluster in the gun department and leaves me disappointed every single time.

Scharnhorst 43? It’s just a scharnhorst side grade with engine boost and worse reload. And Scharnhorst is not a great BB in the current meta

Although it's true they have similar concealment, it's maybe a little easier to stealth torp from Jaeger. Okhotnik has better smoke, though.

If it makes credits at an improved rate, it's a premium ship. Which even though steel and coal ships are do not get the gold lettering they do get improved credit earnings. Some of them you can get for real money as well so those also count.
