World on Fire, Season 2: Where We Left Off

THIS is the series we are so anxious to see! In a way, I hope some people (other than PBS members and viewers) see this here in the US if only to kind of shine a light on the horrendous political stuff going on where yes, people of a certain party are banning books, are locking people up for being gay, or for expressing an opposing view, or for being educated and intelligent.....It is so well done. And people here are woefully, woefully ignorant of our WWII history.

You are 100% correct. I am an American citizen and one political party shut down the House of Representatives. Their cult leader has said loud and clear they do not believe in government. Their purpose is to bring our democracy to an end. Funny how this one man is charged with 41 felony counts and they still kiss his ring. P.S. I am not one of their party, I belong with democracy.

Watching from Canada and waiting for the past nearly four?? years to see the new series. It is marvellous! My Dad was a rear-gunner in the Royal Artillery. He was evacuated from Dunkirk, and then went on to serve in North Africa and be captured by the Italians. So the first episode of the new series was full of references to my Dad’s (and so many others’) experiences. This is a gritty, fantastically written and acted, pull-no-punches war drama. Bravo to the creators and actors and set designers! Lest we forget.

I've seen season 2 and waiting for season 3. I hope to see what happens to all the characters till the end of WW2. My parents were in this war that was horrible. It also makes me think of all the people that going through or die in todays wars. What I like is not the violence or the spectacle but how each react on what is happening or how their surviving instinct work.

YOU will never watch a series that will slow time down as much as World on Fire. There is a religious connection in only a few moments of this incredible, emotional series. That is a shame.

I really enjoyed the 1st. Season. Not sure why but so far, the second season has been a disappointment.
