I’ve followed Ross since the great British swim. I’ve bought the fittest book, I’ve applied myself to those teachings and loved it. But in the end Ross is more than just a content creator. This man has paved the way for future hyper athletes and adventures. Ross has done so many amazing things and has the most impressive sport feats in history. He routinely sets these new and exciting records to inspire everyone, and at the end there is no bragging, no banter, nothing but pure humbleness and respect. He shows true love for his craft. I swam for 11 years competitively growing up, and not once was I this dedicated. But I will say the great British swim happened during my later years in my swimming career and Ross drove me to new heights. So thank you Ross you are truly an amazing athlete, creator, and man. I’d love to meet you sir, if you ever come to the states and have time give me a shout. Thank you again Ross.

What’s funny is I remember training with Ross about 10 years ago, I went in the gym one day and he was trying to break the gym records in about 4 different weight classes while doing an insane water cut. He was as happy and full of energy as he is in these videos. It’s good to see the only thing that’s changed is the challenges getting bigger 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Legend brother!

You can truly feel the genuineness, gratitude, and sheer determination. It’s incredibly inspiring. Your relationship with your dad is also such a powerful example of how to raise children. You and your team did an amazing job. Thank you so much for this great video, and congratulations on getting through it and setting the record. It’s truly beautiful.

Tell us what you are thinking about through the lenghts of swimming. 10k-50k-300k-490k etc.. do you zone out and all empty up there. Do you think about other things and wander to fantasyland. Or straight thinking about surviving and current hurdles for that specific time. It would be great to get a deep dive into this one. Congrats on the record.

Ross you don't know how much this meant to me. I used to swim open water but dropped after a bad panic attack while in the water. I've been terrified to go back, but also struggling to accept that was the end of me. Your sheer resilience, your way to confront your own fears got me really inspired, so much that I may get in the water again after 6 years of back and forth in my mind. Thanks, you're a true legend !!❤❤

Amazing! Also huge shout out to Martin Strel, previous record holder of non-stop swim at 504.5 km, held since 2001. Holds multiple world records and has swam the entire length of the Danube ( 2,860 km), Mississippi (3,885 km), Parana ( 3,998) Yangtze (4,003 km), Amazon (5,268 km) and many other rivers and lakes. I'm surprised he's never mentioned anywhere. Even in the media about this record being broken. A true unsung hero. There's a brilliant, mind blowing and funny documentary about him and his Amazon swim called Big River Man. Highly recommended.

How does current come into play for the world record legitimacy? If your average speed is 510km/56h=9.1km/h, then this is faster than the fastest a human has ever swam in a pool over any distance (around 8.5km/h top speed from a quick google search). Would you have to deduct kilometres from the record to standardise the distance for future record attempts?
@gaarnixgemacht2 ай бұрын
well you did not "swim" 510km. you traveled 510km while being in the water but the current did most of the work. to actually swim 510km in 56h you need to swim 151m per minute. to put that in perspective michael phelps did 138m per minute in his 200m world record. still impressive what you did though.

@mukkaarАй бұрын
Now, call me stupid or something. But what would you call it is when you "swim" or whatever in direction of the current. And what would say the distance is not 510km then? As far as I know, current doesn't make distances shorter. Nor does it magically make swimming not swimming. Yeah, it makes things easier, but it's still swimming in river.
