Becuz of performances like this USA should institute the "Kenny Harrison rule". If you set an Amer or WR at any point bef Olym or Worlds, in the yr of the event you bump the 3rd place finisher @nationals and are now on the team.

It would be nice if there were some special tradition when an athlete breaks a world record. For example, a photograph with all the competitors with the record holder in the middle, like a tribute of these historic goal.

Fairly certain the WR in the 100m Hurdles is currently owned by Nigerian Sprinter Tobi Amusen (12.12sec).

@@TheAndromedaPod I’m not quite a track aficionado, but is 0.08 seconds really SMASHING a record? If they ran their times in the same race side by side I would imagine that might be a photo finish.

@@Maleek_Bae yes, nearly .1 sec difference is a world of difference. Just look at the stark difference between Yohan Blake running 9.69sec and Christian Coleman running 9.76. Both are lightning, but Yohan was in another tier entirely. A photo finish would be something closer to .02 or .03, but even the naked eye can discern the difference between 9.76 and 9.73. Had Keni run a 12.13, then it would have likely been a photo finish.

The announcer stated that "... the clock seems to have run on and on long after she crossed the line. I'd rather fancy that it was quicker". So, it seems that the announcer was right. If you watch the video again, you can see it for yourself.
