@@bellasteppedonmahtoez932 yes, the horse does do a lot of work and stuff but the horse would not be where it is in the video without this rider. Everyone say that the people just sit there but really that is not the case, Just saying, and yes that horse is very talented and stuff but it is not just the horse the rider does A LOT as well, I am an equestrian and I know that it takes a lot of work to make you horse ride well and be able to get to This point. I really hope you you don’t take this in a bad way, really I am not hating or anything just informing. God bless 😊

@Itz_Abbieplayz but the rider still has to try very hard. These equestrians are the people who give us a great name, heals down, chin up, jumping position, hands in the right position ect. People don’t know how hard this is, I am not in any way hating on you I am just informing you. As an equestrian myself I know that this would take years and years of learning to jump this high. Thanks for reading :)

well then again when snowman was sold (a mistake, he bought him back XD) he kept jumping the fence and coming back to his original owner (Nick Skelton) And so they added another pole, he came back. then they tied a tire to him. he managed to jump the fence with an extra pole and a tire tied onto his shoulders and still make it back. It was at that moment he was like: Oh shiz man this amish horse that was being sent to slaughter is a gifted boi!!!

@serena-pk5zp
@serena-pk5zp 4 жыл бұрын
i think they actually dont practise at this height before doing it, its not fair on the horses to be jumping that high multiple times. even once is hard on their legs and they dont want to be doing it a lot for practice. theyre prob jumping a bit under this height for practice. imo its ok to do it once but i dont think that its reasonable to make a horse continuously jump at or near that height, they arent built for it and its pretty harsh on their legs on the landing.

@@dawgy9903 sure yeah but probably not at the full height because its very hard on the horse's legs. obviously you cant just take a horse and expect it to jump that height without training, even if it has the talent. so they do practice but mostly at lower heights than this, id say they would have got close a few times but never the full height just because its really not fair on the horse to expect them to do that multiple times

He was trained in NSW by the King Bros, who trained other 8 foot horses at the time. In 1948 he was ridden by Jack Martin from Kyogle NSW to his win over the 8'6" height in Cairns QLD. Ok for everyone saying about Huaso beating this record, Huaso's jump was not witnessed by a professional judge so therefore there is no real proof that he did jump it clear without cheating, even though we may believe that he did. So Nick and Everest still hold the official title

Well I don’t see how this is wrong and many websites and fei I’m pretty sure released a statement about it. Huaso May have jumped higher but it was never official

Nick Skelton didn't even want to do this...it took 3 attempts and the first attempt Nick smashed through the jump. When he tried to come out of the arena, people told him to go back in.

That’s not true in this case at all. This horse had zero stress coming off this fence. None. We don’t ask just any horse to do this. They have to have the athletic power, want, strength and confirmation. You act like we don’t mind seeing our high 6 figure horses suffer or something. Watch this horse again. Zero hyper flexion on landing. Astonishing horse

The record for the equestrian high jump stands at 8ft 1in (2.47m) and was achieved by Captain Alberto Larraguibel Morales riding Huaso ex-Faithful in Chile in 1949. Not this person and their horse.

There were no independent witnesses that day and photographic evidence doesn’t show the take off side so could have been higher than the landing. Seems funny it’s not been bettered or matched since.

That’s absolutely a sadistic and unfounded and negative comment. This horse was a God. Absolutely loved this and if you watch again he had zero hyper flexion coming off the fence. None. He was conformationally correct and strong and had the want to do it. It’s so few horses ever asked to this. And so let me ask you this- you think it’s for money? You realize he probably won 15k usd and the horse is worth 7-900,000k? Why would anyone ruin a horse worth a million dollars to make what’s probably 10k after you pay your travel expenses etc. Not everything is abuse. Like I wear spurs and you probably would think I am abusing my horse? No I am proving to anyone watching that I can ride in any type Of spur and it never touches my horse because my equitation is so strong. Same reason finished cowboy horses almost go in a knife spoon bit. You think it’s cause the person is abusing the horse. No that’s wrong. Just showing up in such a bit proves you never ever touch your horses mouth. We take world class care of world class horses. We don’t abuse horses. They are our best friends, business partners and heroes.

Don’t feel bad for the horse! The horse actually started jumping on its own and kinda asked the owner to train jumping, the horse was wearing protective bandages around his legs and since jumping that high wasn’t a regular activity it wasn’t damaging! If you’re interested in the horse there’s a documentary about it called Harry & Snowman

This might not still be the world record - records are, after all, made to be broken - but it remains the UK record and it will never be broken because it is the last record to be set over the old sloping poles. The vertical red wall was introduced not long after.
